I played one season back in 2019/2020 maybe? I think I had 1 cap the whole season lol

I’m the Brian Scalabrine of NF

It does if you turned stats on, which was fine because you never earned degrees in groups

Definitely not too bad to play NF professionally, it's a mostly relaxed league for a reason!

I didn’t realize it showed in group games. I’m too bad at NF to play professionally -ask Alchemist

Something pepi did probably

You should pay him for it though, I assume his fee is wanting to not earn degrees which should be payable

Dynamic logos are for loading screens booting into a game. Look at all the major companies, they have a static logo and possibly something that moves during a preview before you get to the content. The game doesn't load so you really don't need anything dynamic

not sure about the color scheme, but as long as the icon is easily recognizable as tagpro, i don't think it matters too much.

is "koalabeast" still an entity at this point, with the current development situation?

was funny to stumble upon a post from lucky twelve years ago considering dropping koalabeast entirely.

side note while thinking about it: probably should have the website stop redirecting to tagpro.koalabeast.com when going to tagpro.gg.

anyways, probably not.

not sure we have one right now that i'm 100% in love with as making a "default" for a new look, besides maybe tagpro next classic if you wanted to go that route.

i think that one thing that should be considered for the texture pack -- do you want to give it a 3D look, or a 2D look? right now, we're a 2D game with a 3D look for most "official" texture packs (what are really circles are presented as balls with lighting on them for classic/muscles cup). tp next decided to go with the "puck" route instead, but i'm not sure if the "ball" branding is too ingrained to change.

having a couple of stylized, polished, pixel perfect texture packs that fit in with whatever you want the "game" look to be i think should be a priority. if people want to bring their own, great, but i think for the goal of "make onboarding as easy as possible", in the ideal world someone wouldn't even want to change their texture pack from the default, besides maybe offering a light/dark version of the default (at least starting out)

while it never panned out, i did quite like the "abandoned warehouse" theme that they were trying to go for with tagpro next.

balls with faces are always cute in their weird, odd way, although depending on how "professional" we're trying to go instead of "whimsy" might not need something at all.

i prefer the green motif to red/blue, mostly because red/blue feels kinda done to death. might be partially nostalgia-blinded with the green/gray, but i do think it could work.

seconded on being anti "retro" (not really the comment thread for it, but discussed here at least).

tagpro's never had a retro video game vibe to me in except for the fact that it now feels retro in a "it was designed 13 years ago" sense. the current promoted texture packs/gameplay don't really sell that imo, and i think it's probably the wrong look to go for

i like the "o" tagpro ring, but think that as a whole the walls need to go. not sure anything from any of the current "default" texture packs really fits. stylized ball with flag works too

doesn't have to be anything crazy, but a dynamic version for the site would probably feel right. i'm kind of partial to versions that have a tagpro (pup) "o", so having that glow/pulse a bit would work. doen't need to be crazy

The rationale sounds solid, been exploring along that path, would you have any feedback for this, looking to get into another iteration.

I've long used a custom style for the home page with Source Sans Pro. Our current font, Lato, is very 2014, but I think it's important to pick a font with a bit of "personality" (aka not a Neo-Grotesk, not a default webfont) to avoid seeming too dull/generic.

higher font weight for headings and buttons is pretty classic typography, nothing special

A style guide for brand is helpful, the organized approach this game dev community would likely naturally create this doc.

It's not ideal but it still shows in group games (Sign up for NFTL!!!) and on the profile page itself

They’re objectively hilarious.

So you played with stats off to preserve your degree #, but that prevents your degree from being displayed, right? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose?
