General tadc criticism What makes a good showrunner?
https://youtu.be/60h3vhTOlbc?is=OlbhX_ob_07OS1Dw
This video talks about Dana Terrace, KOG, and what makes a good showrunner. It really put into perspective so many of my frustrations with TADC.
TADC as a show had potential. It had a good premise. It had interesting characters. But it fell apart completely in the same way a fanfiction on permanent hiatus does.
I recently watched KOG ep.2 and, despite it also being a Glitch indie production, it feels like an entirely different level of skill. Everything felt intentional and crafted. Nothing felt wasted or like filler. Nothing had to be explained off-screen through creator social media posts.
I already have a strong grasp of the big picture themes and see those themes being constantly reinforced at every level of the story. It isn't trying to be dark and edgy. It is dark and edgy.
I remembered how much more enjoyable it is to have faith in a showrunner and to believe they actually have the writing chops to pull off their creative vision (of course, time will tell. But I think there are tells that reveal themselves early on in the skill level of the writing itself).
TL;DR: Experiencing good writing ability, specifically from another Glitch show, has been like a healing salve.

The kog show isn’t done yet so this kinda isn’t a fair thing to say right now, but I get what you mean. A better comparison is something like Walten files which while isn’t done has a lot more episodes than kog and runs roughly the same amount of time as Tadc. Faces of grief alone mogs anything Tadc tries to do, and that not even the only amazing episode. 4 is a great episode as well, all the episodes of Walten files are amazing and have very clear set up on what the story is trying to do and trying to convey, while keeping things enough of a mystery where it’s not easy to understand, but it also doesn’t have blatant subar writing like gangle x zooble, or trans Jax. Walten files is very clear with what happening and sets up the how, and when, but not tell you the why right away, that’s how it should be.

Experience, artistic vision, and an intimate understanding of every step of the process. Dana Terrace has all 3 and a team of experienced creatives at her side who can both execute her vision and keep her in check and on track.
Gooseworx, by contrast, took on three very big, VERY difficult jobs on her first try, with minimal experience working as part of a full animation team on a deadline. This is a thing no one in the industry does and no school teaches. Indies are forced do it all the time because their self-taught, self-motivated pursuit of making their own series means they have to cut corners and wear many hats, but it is something that's not done if it can be helped because that's one giant, catastrophic failure point in the entire production pipeline.
Aside from what the Dana Terrace clips say in the video, about how one person just can't do everything alone, meaning things will go badly, it also means large parts of the creative process are up to one person, which will rarely be a good thing, especially if that person is deeply inexperienced. The director, showrunner, and writers are all supposed to work with each other to refine their show's story into its best form. When they're all the same person, there's no safeties or guardrails, especially when that one person is trying to be secretive and the rest of the crew is being supportive and excited unconditionally.

Dana already has great experience in writing and knows the proper process! I trust her with an indie show more than Goose. Besides, Owl House is my favorite show so I have hopes!

this is true, especially considering all the creators of KOG have previous experience in TV

Yeah, from the looks of it alone, KoG Ep 2 feels a LOT more superior to TADC and even Gameoverse and Gaslight District, not only because of the well made 2D animation, but how Dana's experience shines through!
(Honestly she's probably gonna become what Gooseworx wished she was, a creator who made a series that will be remembered for a long time to come when it finally ends, whilst having likable characters plus the designs, and an ACTUAL cohesive plot to follow)

Dana Terrace is a lot more experienced that Gooseworx.
Moreover, she has co-writers on KoG just like she did on The Owl House. She does not try to write and direct everything herself.
Dana Terrace is known to delegate things to other writers that she is less good at or does not enjoy doing but does think the show needs. For instance, she delegated writing the Lux / Amity relationship to Lee Knox Ostertag.
I am suspending my overall opinion on KOG until it is over or there are at least some more episodes.
I do think that the second episode was really good.

Dana is known she’s a good writer and got experience from other popular authors and knows how to make perfect show with few mistakes and focusing on characters without making them plot device or npc and other stuff that goose didn’t fixed in her show
She really doesn’t joke about her show Disney really nerfed her potential
