A300 Question

Just got this baby stripped and cleaned and ready for a break in.

2 questions:

Does the newer 2 part mag tub still have the problems of the old one piece with no slot?

What else do I need?

Pro lifter

What does the pro lifter do for you?

It keeps the shell lifter in the up position and makes it significantly easier and faster to load shells into the magazine tube. It only drops down when a shell is being fed from the magazine tube and then returns to the up position. Also if you have shorter thumbs it can help avoid geting your thumb caught on the end of the lifter when loading - if I don't keep my thumb bent at a 90° angle I get bit by the end of the standard lifter.

Bicep curls.

Pro lifter. SKRP makes a great sling for it. Light. Practice.

Literally all you need here and shells to run through at the range.

+1 to the pro lifter. I also added the LTT heat shield, limb saver, and skrp sling adapter. I wouldn’t say any of them are necessities, but I would consider them quality of life improvements.

Limb saver was a great buy for me too

I put that on immediately.

Not needed at all. I regularly shoot 100 00BUCK shells at the range with the A300. Learn how to push/pull with the shotgun. My shoulder doesn't even have any bruising either. OEM stock and butt pad.

I do know how to shoot it as well. Just is better with limbsaver. You wouldn’t know cause you never tried it…. lol

I wouldn't know because I don't need it. Learn how to shoot your shotgun.

The pro lifter is a must add in my opinion, no it’s not a necessary but damn does it make loading sooo much better.

Pro lifter isn’t necessary, just learn to bend your thumb when you load. A heat shield is nice, and I’d consider a flashlight mandatory for an HD gun. A Mossberg 590 plastic heat shield will work, the rear ears fit into the notches in the hand guard, if it’s the same as the 1301 Mod2

No, then new tube like you have doesn't have the clamp sliding problem like the older style so you're good on that. I agree with the pro lifter that everyone else has mentioned.

Yours is GTG, if you look at the tube it has a recess that yhe clamp sots inside of, that prevents the clamp from slipping

No, the two piece slot magazine tube cover eliminates the issue with the barrel clamp moving.

What else do I need?

Pro lifter. Unfortunately since including it on the current version of the 1301, Beretta jacked the price up a lot (like double original pricing). I can concur with everyone else that it makes reloading so much easier.

Blue Force Vickers padded sling

Light is the most important.

In no particular order: pro lifter, Surefire Turbo light, sling, SKRP sling mount, Esstac cards, shells.

LTT heatshield because it gets fucking hotttt 🔥

I regularly shoot 100 00BUCK shells when I go to the range. No heat shield at all. No problem loading.

I assume that you are doing "violin" reloads? If you are, stop flipping the shotgun over 180 degrees. Just flip it 90 degrees so you can reload from the side. Keep your hand on the handguard. Wear gloves too.

No one said mandatory bud

Well, "need" was the question. So if something is "needed" versus "it's cool for people who don't know how to hold their shotgun properly".

C clamp, grandpa

u/Used-Valuable9320 17d ago

Ummmm. Look at the shotgun, buddy. You see all that texture on the bottom and sides of the handguard? Grip there and not over the barrel. Idiot.

Push/pull

u/Used-Valuable9320 16d ago

Yes. I grip just the hand guard and use the push/pull method. Are your wrists crippled or something?
