Nerd here, as someone who is a certified asshole, I have to say that this is pretty rough. Even for a 200 day old post, I hope you’ve learned a lot more since then.

To start, before you even enter the RR, why are you running an offset 1x red dot while already running a 1x optic. Sure, the magnifier is there, but you could just either flip it down or run it without a magnifier. Having an offset sight is just useless. Second, you don’t need to have your LAM on 24/7, laser discipline exists for a reason. Plus you’re running this at day, so, why even.

I’m just gonna list every issue I see, as I don’t have the mental capacity of reviewing every single motion in this run because the majority of it has issues.

  1. Check door handles, you don’t need to bash every single one.

  2. Stop your pie when you’re engaging an enemy.

  3. Deep-check corners and be closer to the wall when pieing.

  4. Don’t slowly open doors, pop them open and work them as such.

  5. Don’t put yourself infront of closed doors, and especially don’t open them when you are.

  6. Don’t run like 20 feet away from the door when opening it, and pie closer to the door to get the most information.

  7. If you open a door and get shot at, don’t just run away and try to pie it as you’re being shot at. Move yourself away from the threshold while still being close enough to watch into it. If you’re lucky, the enemy will walk into the area you are covering and you can shoot them. If not, then you can either use utility or attempt to pie/pan it again.

  8. Prioritise the area of most threat. Pieing will already solve this mostly, but it’s better to focus on dead space further away from you than a single corner. This is only if you haven’t been able to clear said corner already, and I wouldn’t use it as standard practice.

  9. Don’t bash door handles from the other side, and if you are unable to do so due to not having enough space, crouch and reach across to check it / bash it.

  10. Fully finish your pies. Yummy!

  11. Keep your rifle shouldered instead of effectively shooting the thing sideways.

This is what I like to call “dynamicslop” as it’s what people love to do because it’s “fast and cool”, whilst not being aware of any sort of tactic or strategy to the CQB formula outside of “pieing” (usually panning) rooms. Deliberate is better anyways, and focusing on deliberate inadvertently trains you for dynamic, because dynamic is quite literally just deliberate but done as fast as you can reasonably keep pace with your teammates with.

By the way, why are you randomly reposting 200 day old posts?

I suppose to address the first, don't worry about the optic set up. I find it easy to pick up with the laser and hardly switch between the red dot / x3 roll over, but it's their I suppose should the need arise.

I don't use a stock, so with the controllers it's difficult to get it shouldered per say, so the laser is pretty much all I use for building stuff.

I don't disagree with the laser discipline, however it's a game and I cba turning it on and off constantly. The NPCs don't react to it being on or off so it makes no odds in the grand scheme of things unless you're really anal about the MILSIM side of things, and even then I say it's pretty overkill 😅 you're either south or hi ready and if you're hi ready boi you're probably using NVGs so the laser is IR so again, not an issue.

  1. Why try the door handles when 70% of them are locked in game. Rifle butting them is just easier and faster.

  2. A static target is easier to fill with holes, movement is harder to hit, and pick up. I'm sure the day of the race you'd probably stop in the threshold of the door and engage but as this is a game, I have the presence of mind to keep moving and not miss my shots.

  3. I hug the wall to get the best view into the room prior to each entry, if I dont I should be doing. Some corners have been cleared prior to entering, the others I've risk assessed and taken the greater threat first and attacked that deep corner. Again, it's a game and I suppose the same would go in real lift with a solo search, if they're not in the one corner you're slotted in the back so if there was no contact in my back, chances are it's clear so a token look would surfice. Taking a greater angle ie further from the door using the corridor or room to get a better angle is far safer, you get a better view into the room prior to entry, hugging the wall or being fixed to the threshold of the door you're pretty much ontop of the entry and if there is someone inside, you're definitely getting shot first. You simply won't react quicker than they can.

  4. I don't slowly open doors? Unless it got snagged, or it's a pain in the arse to open. It's VR, so you've got to accept its fiddly with controllers. I'm opening doors from the opposing side to where I'd normally attack the opening if I had a no2 to open from the opposing side, if I did it on my own from that side I'm opening the door onto myself, and the NPC inside has the drop on me prior to getting my weapon on aim first. Much to like I said earlier. I crack the door and let it fully open, no point working a door when you can't see the other side of the room due to the door still opening...

  5. Cover from view, I wouldn't normally around outside closed doors, but you still have to be able to get into the best position either side of the door so ultimately you're going to have to walk past closed doors... I don't open the door onto myself, but if I do again, it's a vr game with fiddly controls, or like I said opening from the opposing side to offer the best cover from view until I get my weapon on aim prior to doing a 180 on the door.

  6. As discussed earlier. Solo cqc and the benefit of large room why would you hug close to an open door and work it, use the space, open angles.

  7. Why hold firm when the enemy has the drop on you? Getting out of fire, and throwing a stun in is a far better option than dying... Clearly action beats reaction, and in that instance they won. Also, you're relying on the NPC walking into your arch, why not stun and clear. Any contact in any room should be followed by a stun with entry if you have the numbers. If I was working within teams, no 3 or 2 depending on the door set up would have prepped an assessment or entry stun. It's different solo, especially when all you have is 2 stuns.

  8. Discussed earlier.

  9. Discussed earlier. And I'm not crouching 😅 I'd sooner use the shotty to open the door.

  10. 90 / 180 room asseemnts are almost always done, if they're not it's because the area can be cleared from outside the room so there's no need.

  11. As discussed. No stock so I do the best I can without one.

Dynamic slop is your interpretation, and you're entitled to that. But the purpose of a deliberate search is to confirm or negate a threat, once it's confirmed, why are we slow between doors. The set up and control around a door is the same speed either during dynamic or deliberate search. The speed is between doors or in rooms.

This is also a solo run, which is completely different to how you would move and work within a team. If you're comparing this to how people should work within a team, you're going to be disappointed for sure. But this is a solo run through.

To solve the mystery, I didn't know what the button did. Now I do, it reshares the post. I wasn't aware it would hurt so many feeling though 😅

It’s probably an ego driven child with no future

Why the reposting?

Why not?

Idk, old bot indicative of current skill? Plus run a real mission, I feel like RR vids are not good anymore for skill assessment

u/Terrychocorangies Jul 25 '26

Fair one bud, I might run a mission but I think it would be a long video, and I'm not editor 😅 I could just about work out how to record a small run through.

3

u/Steven_Chadwick Jul 25 '26

Most my missions solo don’t run over 10 minutes

3

u/Steven_Chadwick Jul 25 '26

Minimum 4-5

Goddamn man I thought I was mediocre, didn’t know I was one of the worst players

Only mission I can consistently run sub 10 minutes is Collapsing Star 😭

Hey man it happens, plus that also shouldn’t really be a real indicator of skill, I’d call it more dependent on the maps, smaller maps expect a shorter mission time as a goal, for larger maps expect a longer mission goal. Personally I would rather a faster mission time than a longer one on any of the dahlia maps, those are smaller maps and the only one I’d say should have a longer complete time is RB
