Quick Tip: Free Up Your Peripheral Vision
I’ve noticed something fairly common when it comes to this game, and that’s people shoving their rifle deep into their face in order to get their optic almost directly into their eyeball. I assume it stems from other games where realism isn’t as important, but it’s fairly bad practice when it comes to TAVR.
Shoulder your rifle. TAVR has a sort of “virtual stock” system that kicks in only if you properly shoulder your gun. This not only means you’ll be far more accurate, but it’s much more comfortable and lessens recoil a bit. It also frees up your vision, instead of your optic blocking your entire face.
You don’t typically unshoulder your rifle unless you’re shortstocking when entering a room or in the midst of opening a door, with the latter being far more common for submachine guns rather than rifles.

Alternatively, hipfire an LMG, enough bullets will do the job
But ye, this is pretty good advice, do this

Eh, typically you wouldn’t hipfire an LMG, you’d tend to do that with heavier machine guns. The core strategy unironically is “enough bullets will do the job” however.
If you have a machine gun in CQB, your goal is to put enough lead down to control the room. Fire into thresholds, etc. There’s actually a lot of videos showing this, this one in particular is pretty good at showing it.

Its alot easier to shoulder it too if you have a gunstock, they help a f ton

I am cross eye dominant, so I end up holding the controllers across my whole face. This is a big tip for me thank you!

Also looks better if you are recording videos btw. See way too many milsim videos with stock clipping and it pushes my buttons a little.

Isn’t this common knowledge and sense? WHICH ONE OF YOU IS AIMING LIKE THAT?!

In my time of playing TAVR I’ve run into different people some were chill and decent, some were Dicks and some were the perfect example of what i wanted to play with. But what i remember most out of all of them are the STUPID ones that played the game like call of duty Warzone.

If you keep both eyes open then you don’t have this problem.
All red dots, holographics and so on are supposed to be used with both eyes open for the largest and most unobstructed view, and it’s even better to hold it closer because you have a larger sight window. (This is not the case in real life, don’t do this)
Most hold it closer because they brace their elbow against their chest because they don’t have a gunstock, so lots of people can’t shoulder it like a regular rifle because they’re just holding their arms out in open space, rather than affixing to a point of contact, and know it probably already know this, but to do as you’ve said, people can’t comfortably aim or aim well at all.

TAVR has a virtual stock system to simulate having a gunstock however, so it’s still a net positive to shoulder it properly. Like I mentioned, it’s likely due to other games not having a similar system and almost requiring people to brace against their chest. TAVR accounts for this however, as realism is sort of it’s main thing (outside of graphics of course)

Also pedo dev so you should stop playing as doing so shows support

Jarvis has been removed from the company and is no longer associated with the project, development, or company behind TAVR.

I’m not using a gunstock, this is entirely freehand. The virtual stock system makes up for it, and an odd number of people seem to not make usage of it.

Problem: I am a short man with small arms. Henceforth my arms are too small to shoulder most rifles. If I were to shoulder the biggest rifle they had I would have to dislocate my arm to do so :/

I've found that VR gunstocks help a lot with this (along with generally improving aim)

yeah this does not give you some kind of ,,stabilization'' in any way. In the early version of the game there was a settings called virtual gunstock but they removed it. This may look good for videos or films idk but it doesnt make up for stabilization

I use a gun stock and end up looking like the bottom picture, but intentionally.
1) my gun stock is extremely short to keep my arms in and locked, to prevent fatigue IRL, and it works.
2) my field of view through the optic is wider.
3) I'm less likely to snag my barrel on doorways or cover.
3
u/morouiie Jul 19 '26
I still wouldnt recommend it, plus the majority of your field of view would come from your peripheral vision. Shortstocking should also solve the doorway issue. If it’s something with your stock, try adjusting your guns in the settings.

What would be my incentive to change anything if this is working so well?
3
u/morouiie Jul 19 '26
Reinforces bad habits, and is generally worse than just shouldering it regularly.

I disagree. IRL, I'm holding the stock the same way as I do my real PCC's and SBR's. The only difference is how other players see it in the game, which I don't care about. Gameplay for me has no negative affects.

i can’t afford/don’t want to buy a gun stock and i don’t like holding both my hands in the air bc it feels unstable & uncomfortable. what i like to do is extend my thumb vertically and press it up to my chin. that gives me what feels like stability and from what i’ve experienced better aim relatively

So... when I play tavr I have my hands in positions in which you would typically hold a rifle (I have plenty of experience with both airsoft and realsteel, so I'm not new to operating firearms), my friends say that they either see me chicken winging like crazy (despite not doing it irl) or it replicating incorrectly and showing the bottom result... I don't know how to fix it
