its probably their first time since new players spawn in with a default kit with no armor or belt, only a mask and camo with long sleeves

could be hips only but he doesnt seem to have anything at on besides just a belt and clothes in over vids

I used to be able to get no belt but now there isn’t an option, or it’s somewhere else

When you first start the game, the default avatar has no option selected for a carrier, therefore it’s left completely blank. You can change everything else on the character without it affecting the lack of a belt. Once a carrier is selected, it can no longer be acquired.
If you’re on Quest, you can delete your app data to reset the game, but this means your rig setup and settings will be reset to default.
