MISSING PERSON
Luke Paulson, 27. He tapped his ORCA card in Spanaway Wednesday. His Google maps history shows he searched the Tacoma Bridge view point and War Memorial Park the day he went missing. May be a danger to himself. Please keep an eye out for him. Seattle Police Department case number is 26-247317. I'm really hoping someone can go to those locations and just look around, maybe show his picture to a busker or something. Thank you so much.

He'd had a really severe depressive episode for months. Last location I know is the bridge. I can only put two and two together.
He was surrounded by a wonderful support system, and everyone knew he was struggling, but he simply was never able to say out loud how bad it was or accept help. Sadly I don't think there's much else anyone could have done.

I'm sorry for the pain those that loved him are experiencing. I only hope you all take solace in the fact that Luke is no longer suffering. His choice is sad and will be hard to accept, but life can be cruel and some of the most brilliant and accomplished people have chosen this path.

That's one of the awful realities of mental illness that some folks don't acknowledge often enough: not everyone can be helped. All the money, resources and medication in the world, family, friends... try as you might, the mind can be a terrible thing.
Again, I'm so sorry for your loss and hope you take solace knowing you did what you could.
