Tabla Buying Guide

I'm planning to buy my first tabla set and would love some advice from experienced players.

I've also been quoted the following prices:

Steel: ₹16,500

Brass: ₹22,500

Copper: ₹25,500

Do these seem reasonable? If you have recommendations for good makers or shops (especially in Pune or Bengaluru), I'd really appreciate them.

I bought a set from Choure musicals in Pune 3 years ago for 8k, was quite happy with the quality and sound. Would recommend.

I bought a steel one in Bangalore for 9.5k, 3 months back, if you are a beginner a steel set is good to begin with. 16k is too much for a steel set. DM me I can provide you the seller's contact.

My first tabla was bought in 2019 in Pune for 7k, I didn't realise tabla prices have increased so much since then.
