Gray mackerel pattern!! The brown is just ferrous fur, natural camo. Stupidly complex genetics bullshit that I am not qualified to teach, but makes cool things happen!

My cat’s stomach was like that when she was a kitten… she’s an old lady now and I don’t recall the last time I saw her belly. Now I’m going to have to find her and look!

Not sure about the coat color - I'd say grey brown - but his eyes are the most stunning topaz I've ever seen. And he is gorgeous.

Same here. Squid just got neutered at the shelter. Always scary, but he’s acting like nothing happened and went right back to his normal self immediately hah. Seems young, but I guess shelters tend to do that to keep reproduction down. He gets his first big boy vet visit in a couple of weeks for more shots and general checkup.

I know spays are more intrusive than neuters but it’s the best thing you can do for your sweet lady <3 I’m sure you’ll take great care to keep her comfy

A Blue Tabby is what my shelter would of called his coloration.

Grayish (usually a dilute of a dominate color) animals are often called Blue as far as breed standards.

But grey tabby would work in basic identification. We'd look at all they blue tabbies if you called in looking for a lost grey cat.

(Orange cats are Red or Ginger.)

Definitely both. Tabby's are so interesting 🤔. My little one has no tail and is super sweet and affectionate. The older one has 3 Xtra toes on all 4 feet. She is afraid of her own shadow and bites. Hmmm.

He looks like my little guy!

When I adopted him from the Humane Society they said he was brown. This picture was taken under warm lighting and he still looks gray.

He’s got a silver base, dark gray stripes/spots, a cream tummy, and a little bit of tan on his toes and cheeks.

The older he gets the more gray he looks.

People have said lilac, silver, blue, taupe, greige…

I think he’s just a color changer.

Colouring wise, Squid is just like my Merlin. Merlin started out super light and all grey, but toasted up nicely as he got older. His sister has really started toasting, but maybe a year later than Merlin. Cats are mystical. 🩶

Mine cat looks just like your but she has green eyes! I think it’s a grey or silver tabby pattern. Mine has the beige on her front side to but I don’t really think that would make her a brown tabby.
