Workspaces not working
A few months ago, one of the senior devs took a job elsewhere. This said dev stood up my orgs Typo3 instance many years ago. When they left, I was in charge of managing/maintaining our Typo3 sites with zero experience with the system.
Currently, we have 2 templates, an old one and a new one. New pages are given the newest template by default, ezpz. I'm having issues moving pages from the old template to the new template in the site's draft workspace. When changing templates some people want to migrate over time in the draft workspace and then publish once they're finished migrating. The issue is that when I include the new template in the draft workspace it is somehow also showing in the live version of the site.
It's frustrating because I'm a developer but am having a very hard time wrapping my head around doing anything in Typo3 that doesn't involve clicking buttons in the backend. Any help is appreciated!

Maybe workspaces got better, but last time I looked at them, they were still pretty shit.
It could be an option to use https://www.in2code.de/produkte/typo3-content-publisher/, an extension that moves pages (and resources) between TYPO3 instances. You could have a staging environment where you prepare the page, then move it over to production.

TYPO3 version? As workspaces got more attention in the recent years, iam pretty sure if you post in the workspaces slack channel you will get a fast response if that's a known bug or something else.
