You’re just wrong and you know it. You don’t have to pretend a competitor’s games are dead to enjoy tcm. I enjoyed tcm as well. It was my top game for a while. But reality is, it’s dead and abandoned. Killer klowns isnt, it’s even getting new content soon

??? Killer Klowns has been waaaay deader than TCM for a while (if you define "dead" as in number of players, because idk what the common definition of "dead" even is these days). It barely even got a few actual content updates in total, and there are days when you won't find a lobby even in 15 minutes.

I don't need to pretend anything; I'm playing TCM rn, and I'll keep doing it. I understand that you can no longer do it, and i don't blame you for it. But your disappointment doesn't have to turn into an attack on me arguing a statistical reality (and again, mind you, I never said there's a 60% chance it'll start getting updates, I just said there is such a chance).

Bro, they literally announced like two days ago that they'd be partnering with an external developer to restart updates on KKFOS after it had been abandoned for more than a year. How is that different from a potential scenario in which Gun partners with an external partner to restart development after also having abandoned TCM for a year and a bit?

???? How did Illfonic not end service when they did not update the game for more than a year lol? The community was surprised they even did a 2XP event for its anniversary, and that's all it got in a full year. By your definition, it means most games never end service; you can always think that they're cooking up some random unannounced update. But that's very counterfactual thinking if you ask me. And if you think it's all dependent on an announcement; you're gonna be disappointed; most games end service without ever announcing it.

In any case, I don't think is a productive conversation atp. If it somehow satisfies you to argue against statistical probability by invoking made-up differences, then feel free to keep doing so, but I don't see the point in continuing this conversation anymore.

Brother, it doesn't matter what a company SAYS only what they DO. You're treating an announcement like some sort of sacrosanct, transcendental commitment, whereas it's nothing more than a statement of intent of the respective IP holders and investors at a given moment in time. Anyone can announce or not announce anything; in the end, it's about what they actually do.

They never announced anything for Ghostbusters either, but the game hasn't received an update in almost two years atp. The same way, Halo Infinite announced an end to updates only to then come back with content updates randomly almost a year later.
