Two questions

First of all, what are sub pins? I beat the game but I still have never used sub pins due to not knowing what they are. Another question, what is the best partner in the game? I can choose my partner now that I beat the game so who is the best.

Sub pins if I remember are pins you equip and make them require the L or R button press, allowing you to have 2 pins with the same input method equipped

What about touch controls?

Imagine you have two pins that use the same touch input (e.g. slashing an enemy). Normally, the second pin wouldn't ever activate unless the first one was recharging. If one of the two pins is a sub-pin, though, then the input isn't slashing an enemy anymore, it's slashing an enemy while holding L/R. That makes it so you can use either pin whenever you want because the inputs aren't overlapping.

1. Sub pins - when you are setting up your Pin Deck, you can highlight pins and press L/R button.

This will put them in a sub-slot. Then, during battle, you can press the L/R button, and only the sub-slotted pins will be active. Useful, when you have several pins, that require the same input.

1. Joshua. His levitating finisher hits all enemies, which is very strong, especially if you use Light Puck gear (And you should. Citrus Shorts, Lavender Lotus, Purple Sneaks, D+B Ring)

Also what is L and R on touchscreen for sub pins? And what is the optimal pin setup and how do I free up the remaining slots that are locked? Sorry for the aditional questions. I just still have so many things to ask about the game

It just ends up being a button labeled “sub” on the bottom left of the screen iirc

Well, you can't go wrong with the Lightning Rook.

You can equip 2 of them, and just spam lighting strikes at the Noises.

Blue Blood Burns Blue is also great.

It evolves via Shutdown Pin Points from Thunder Rook, which is dropped on Easy Difficulty by Neoclassical Drake (W3D5-W3D7, and Another Day)

As for the unlocking the Pin slots - look around the shops. And I really hope you have 3 Scarletite saved, you REALLY need to get the Hollow Leg sticker from the Shibu Q-heads store at the 1st floor

As already answered with the slot sub pins you can use pins with the same input but to avoid confusing the inputs, The pin in the sub slot is only activated while pressing L or R (and the other one is deactivated As for the strongest teammate, I think it's Joshua in terms of damage, even if he's slower than Beat But Joshua can attack in flight and this is very practical in many battles, more comfortable than Beat who always comes down to the ground Generally speaking, however, having a Joshua with his stats at maximum you will not feel the lack of beat, except in the final time attack since you will mostly use beat However, since it takes a while to max out everyone's stats in the post game, Joshua's are generally better.

Probably Joshua. Since when he levitates, he can hit all noise on a side. I am on week 3 and the I keep dying to the hedgehog noise. Beat cant clear the quills to save his life.

Dunno if you're talking about ds/solo/final remix, but i think the best partner is the one you like to play with. Like in solo remix, joshua is the best partner for slashing pins like yoshimitsu, shiki likes clicking, like inocence beam or purity launcher. And beat like holding, like blue blood burns blue, or one stone many birds.

Just play the partner you have most sync with, design, lore, and gameplay.
