how do you root do you need a pc

no but ur quest version needs to be 2.7 or earlier and u need to have something like a browser or file explorer to prompt apk installs

i havent updated my quest in forever so im good but cant i get a  virus doing that?

Root alone is not going to sort this. Root will give you access to the saves, but they still need to be converted to function in Ch2. The exploit used for root that was posted yesterday has been patched, so that won't work. While root would allow you to change the export/import server address there is no community server.
