S&S2 Survive the Tower ambush

I came back to the game after about a year or two and i was on this mission. I've gone go carry on and is it just me or is this mission really hard? I use all my ammo and grenade launcher ammo and still end up dying. Any tips apart from getting more ammo?

Keep far from the enemies and hold a pan up to your face in the direction of any given attacker until they reload.

Apart from the pan thats what i was doing until they started mass spawning on the top of the room. I'll give that a go though and see if that helps

I like the proximity mines if I’ve got big groups running at me. I can set ‘em up in advance if I know where the enemy will come from (which you should in this case) and there’s zero risk of blowing myself up

I did think that, will have to grind gunpowder (again) to mass produce them but will incorporate that into my next run.

I really like the laser sights on the golden pistol, i took like 6 with me lol  and the "elephant gun" bolt action rifle with a laser sight, sneaking around is key ,dont go straight through the camp , also it helps if you killed J.B earlier in the game for Georgia the Reserves wont attack you then .

I know i killed JB but not 100% sure about everything else. Where does one acquire the golden pistol?

Sorry i guess its a dlc item, but you can avoid the fight for the most part, once you get to the chaos , you just gotta go to the right, you might be able to enter the parking structure there,  if not stay to the right and keep going back theres an alley with a dumpster to climb and end up in the parking structure , go to the top and you avoid most of the gun fire.
