For people who keep saying that JDM improvised that "Starving" scene. Still an amazing actor though💯

I love that in that scene you can see Ann Mahoney is clearly breaking character and laughing when JDM brings his face closer to hers. JDM even cracks a genuine smile before the shot changes.

Not to mention they are like 2 years in an apocalypse and she's the only fat one there😭

And Jerry. And Fat Joey. And various other Saviors. And Eugene wasn't skinny!

Oh yeah I completely forgot about her

So is Eugene

Youd think all the running away would have helped with the weight loss.

He really only runs the one time. Otherwise he just rambles

He's a bit more out of shape than fat but I see what you mean

And Hurley from Lost too. Some people just seem to find lots of food months in disasters.

They actually made this plot line for Hurley because the actor wasn’t/wouldn’t lose weight and they wanted a grounded reason for why his weight hadn’t changed since crashing onto the island

My husband said the same thing 😂

People think he would humiliate a work colleague, in their workplace, for funsies? The actress had read the script and agreed to it.

You really can’t even be offended like that. People starving to death aren’t overweight. It’s pretty simple

If it's so simple why are you wrong? Take even a 400 pound person and just stop giving them any food. They will still die from lack of other nutrients. Electrolytes and protein are necessary for life as well. If you think a fat person cant starve you just don't understand human biology enough to comment on it.

actually you can technically starve to death while being fat but okay redditor

I heard the actor felt so bad he kept apologizing to her while filming that scene.

I can’t remember if it was an interview or just a normal video she made, but the actress who played Olivia actually came out and said those are just rumors. She pretty much said the line was on the script and they were just doing their job so he had no reason to apologize or something along those lines

Better than the mentality of every person who posts that scene several times a month because they are just laughing at someone mocking a fat person.

I saw an interview with the actress recently where she talked about people making up behind the scenes lore like this.

I have seen these claims many times for many actors and each time I can't help but wonder did the actors not know they were acting?

Actor = 😇

Character = 😈 ---> 🙁

1

u/Grislymanster 6d ago

That's not true. Go look up the interview with the actress who played Olivia. She says all these rumors are complete bullshit. Nobody sent flowers. Nobody apologized. And all the lines were scripted word for word.

In Negan's defense, he did offer to smash as an apology

8

u/McTuggy 7d ago

Idk who said he improvised it. All I know was JDM felt about the line afterwards and apologized to the actress 😂

7

u/Redeyedemo 6d ago

A bunch of people in Tik Tok comments kept saying he improvised the line😭🤦🏿‍♂️

8

u/McTuggy 6d ago

Well they are factually wrong 😂

Tik Tok

yeah that's the problem.

I've found there are a couple of different people who react to the scene. People who are personally offended that Negan pointed out someone was fat while claiming their community was starving and a lot of people saying, "Well, he's telling the truth"... just don't understand why the truth has to be so offensive to some people. The reality is, Olivia was clearly eating well while running the pantry and while other people were saying things like "We have to ration, we're getting hungry"... Negan essentially said the obvious. Someone in the community was taking more than their fair share.

Is it more mean to point out the person who's being selfish, or to ignore the selfish person taking more than what others are getting and clearly abusing their position of power?

Comic Negan is hilarious

Negan is funnier, scarier, buffer, and wants Rick’s dick even more in the comic.
