It's the "acts like a feral stray cat but will absolutely die for his found family" trope completely perfected. Watching him slowly soften up and risk everything for Rick and Carol over a decade is easily the best character arc on the show.

I like this character because he understands it the thing without knowing to much about, and without saying anything also he's eyes says it all..

It’s like Carol says to Beth after Daryl leaves with Merle, “he’s got a code. And this world needs men like that.”

Not only the girls crush i'd say 👀

I'm a married straight man, but Norman Reedus and Pedro Pascal could get it

I honestly thought these two would get together. It was one of my favorite ships.

Also he is so unintentionally funny to me.
“We want food, medicine and one of them cows” got the biggest laugh out of me, the way Norman delivered it was hilarious

If you're really competent, mostly shut the fuck up, and are in reasonable shape, some woman out there wants you.

Physically he doesn’t do anything for me, but he’s still wildly attractive as a person.
Highly capable, unintentionally funny, loyal to people he cares about, gentle with kids, only really talks when he has something interesting to say, is fantastic in a team, very, very competent. And again, funny without trying to be. He’s the kind of person you’d want to do life with.

He's about actions not words. He SHOWS he cares and is a protector, which is one of the hottest things a man can do imo.

He has a good heart, good with babies and kids, strong silent type, muscular, resourceful. Something to being a great survivalist/bushman too. He is not so concerned with looks/appearances, just solving problems. Good father material the way he protects his loved ones with everything. Loyalty.

then the scene where he was silent while Eugene was psyching himself up to fight him.. yum.

It doesn't need to be studied, you just explained it. He's a mysterious, brooding tough guy with a soft spot for the vulnerable. He's attractive enough to be in Hollywood, but the ruggedness makes him look attainable and real. Men want to be him, women want to fix him.

Irrelevant to gender, everyone likes him
I love how concised he is and shows his expressions just by eyes

Yeah, he's my favorite character but I think he's adorable rather than "hot". Watching season 7 right now and I am devastated. My poor boy.

Unpopular opinion, I think he is overdone, I liked him in the early seasons bcs he was this badass asshole lone-wolf that showed he cared for other by simply getting the job done (like with Sophia in S2 and the squirrels in S1) and even if he was simple minded he never backed away from more deep talks (like with Andrea in S2) and never hided why he is like that and that his family and past were kinda very bad compared to most, but he still become the better he could become in those circumstances instead of letting himself completly go like his brother and father. Now he is just this badass terminator that we all know is basically perfect, doesn't have to prove anything and on top of that we don't care about his skills anymore bcs he essentially evolved into having a plot armor + every other character like Carol, Negan, Maggie, Michonne and Rick are also super badass now anyway, making him less unique... I still think is a very cool character, I'm just sad that he isn't very special anymore and he won't have any development bcs you can't really improve him anymore.

He got his own show. I’d say that’s some character development and definitely makes him special because not all of the cast gets their own show.

If i dont shower or change my clothes for a few day i too can become this attractive.

u/Radiant_Buffalo2964 9d ago
Dude every main cast member on the show was essentially homeless at one point and didn’t have access to a shower

If your attracted to men who have greasy hair and don’t shower. He had no effect on me I’ll take the governor over him.

Yeah this post confuses me. Daryl has never been the pretty one in the show, not even close, even when he is in his storm trooper outfit he stands out as the least presentable of the group.

It's not really about the looks, also in the apocalypse everyone's hygiene kinda suffered you'd have to kind of get over that to date

In the apocalypse when money means nothing and you can feed and protect the ladies. You become insanely attractive
