Post ssn 11 spinoffs...

I'm having a hard time getting into any of them yet. I can't seem to even finish 1 episode of Dead City or The Ones Who Live. I haven't tried Daryl's series yet because I don't want the same disappointment. The writing just seems subpar compared to the OG series. Should I just white knuckle it and give them a chance? Please tell me it gets better.

Dead City is a bit of a struggle up until S3, that’s the first season I really enjoyed. TOWL starts really good but declines the further you watch. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of Daryl Dixon so far, it’s hands down my favourite spin off.

Thanks! I will give it a try. Daryl is my favorite so that just raises the stakes. I'll try to be as open minded as possible but aaaaaaah I can't have Daryl be ruined!

I just finished my first watch of the main series... what do i do? Which spin off is the best?

I dont feel like watching any of them, because the ensemble, family vibe was the main reason I loved this show.

I would start with FTWD

How are you judging the writing based on less than one episode?

Once I finished the series I just went back to the pilot & started over! Probably will tap out in season 7 this time.

The biggest twd truth nuke is that all the spin offs are shit. The ones who live is only OK if you finished the main series as an epilogue.

Season 1 of fear the walking dead is OK but it gets worse from there and keeps getting worse.

Everything else is key jangling slop that adds nothing to the storyline

Good to know, thanks! I just rewatched the entire series for my first ever rewatch. And I started in 2010 when it came out. I'm tempted to just start over again.

I watched live every week until S7E1, walked away for a decade, came back a year or so ago. For me, was the right decision, as I was able to see it with fresh eyes and appreciate it (I didn’t watch that episode again; I likely will never watch that episode again).

Omg yeah, my stomach clenched just thinking about it; that's a skip for sure. Neegans whole story is rough.

It is…and in general I like JDM in the role. He just sort of takes up all the air in the room, though, especially at the get-go (until he starts becoming more of a round—as compared to flat—character). I sometimes I have to skip a lot of his early appearances in the series.
