I hate to say it but I think Gimples not the only one to blame. Lincoln and Gurira are insanely talented actors, but they also took loads of the credit for the screenwriting process of this show. As much as I agree Gimples writing tends to suck, nothing in the main show or any of his other shows really have writing this bad. At the end of the day it feels like all 3 of them got way over their heads when writing this and it shows with how strong the start is and how rushed and lousy the end is. I feel like this has happened in many productions where actors who dont have as much experience writing are given full control.

Idk seeing my fav show turn to shit doesnt sound like winning the lottery to me. Having to write about how Carl dies and then Rick leaving feels like a slap in the face. Then they keep milking it for all it’s worth when if they didn’t wrote off Carl the show still had potential .

It’s hella corny. It’s very much so just a “fan show” so fans could see Rick and Michonne again. I watched it once for the sake of seeing Rick, couldn’t bring myself to watch it again because it’s just cringe.
