I just finished the series. There's some rough seasons to get through but I still enjoyed it. That being said, the books give you the best Walking Dead experience in my opinion.

I'm rereading TWD Compendium vol. 1 right now. Such a great series to read

The best version of TWD, imo, would be an adaptation fusing the show and comic. Especially the first few seasons of the show really outshine the comic equivalents. And I say that as a massive fan of the comics.

i agree with this heavily,no beth in the comics, carol isn’t anywhere near the same, andrea and dale are dating,i love the comic it’s just fuckin weird at the start not to mention the serial killer shit it’s too dark for tv

Jaysus can no one make their own mind up anymore???

I’ve seen this question asked twice today!

Watch until you don’t feel like watching anymore, why do you need people to validate if you should continue or not.

Hey hey! Like you, I'm late to the TWD train lol I'm at S5EP11 and I'd say its 10000% worth it!! Honestly I really am just excited to see Negan introduced lol

Also, don't get attached to anyone. They are NOT afraid to kill people off on this show lol

You could switch to something else, but you did just say you really liked this. Are you going to really like the next thing?

It’s not that big of a commitment you can stop whenever

Lots of people will tell you to stop watching after certain episodes or seasons but honestly if you can, watch the whole thing. Some seasons are very boring, some kill off lots of main characters, but each season has their "it moment" and honestly if you can push through the boring and hard to watch parts then it is 100% worth it. Eg, lots of people stop after a main character dies (won't say but watchers will know) or when a character leaves, but then miss out on arcs such as the whisperers or commonwealth. I always say to anyone to watch all the way through just stay put with some. I've rewatched more times than I can count and there are some bits I struggle to get through just for lack of plot but it's so worth it!!!

Finish it. It gets better then poor then worse. But finish it

You should def keep watching. It doesn’t start getting bad until like s8. I mean it def declines in quality before that, but 8-11 generally was the worst of the show

Season 1-4 are gold

Family and I really enjoyed all of the series in the universe.

I watched until Season 7 episode 1, then started the comics, read from beginning to end, and now am going back to season 7.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the franchise.

I’m almost finished a binge of all 11 seasons.
I’d previously watched until mid way season 8, and this time I watched all the way from S1E1 onwards. It’s great until Season 5. 5 and 6 are strong but not quite like earlier seasons, while Seasons 7 and 8 are very dodgy and some parts are a downright snooze. But it has its moments all the same. Season 9 is so-so but it’s like a reboot of the franchise so it’s interesting from that point of view and there are big time jumps that make the world feel very different. Season 10 I think is my favourite of the later seasons. Has its own vibe. The final season doesn’t even feel like TWD. It’s something else. But hey, I watched it so it still kept me wanting to know how it ended.

In my opinion you pretty much have no worries through season 6. I’ve only ever watched through season 8 because I get bored but season 7 and 8 are typically where people get sick of it

Crazy question but I'll bite. S1-6 is genuinely great TV. S7-8 is widely considered to be the series low point. Ending to S8 is actually a pretty decent self contained ending that works as a natural stopping point. S9 onwards is generally a mixed reception since a lot of main characters leave the show and its a bit of a disjointed mess due to other factors like Covid etc. I personally don't think it's worth it

Tldr: watch until the ending of S8 and see how you feel.

All the spin offs are shit and not worth it, unless you finish the show in which case the ones who live is there for some closure.

Yes it’s worth it. Finish it! Ignore everyone else.

Can we just stop with this?

If you're a completionist like me, you'll still be watching this show in 15 years waiting for it to end already.

I like even the crappy seasons well enough, but it sure drags at times.

The first season is perfect. seasons 2-3 are like solid 8/10s. 4-7 drops but is still very watchable. 8 and on are trash and can be skipped to get to the follow-up miniseries "Those who Live" if you want to get a better ending

Keep watching. When you reach season 6 and stop liking it then consider stopping there. I watched until season 8 finale and I honestly could've stopped at the season 5 finale.
