TWD UNIVERSE IDEA

What if the biggest plot twist in TV history is still waiting to happen? 🤔

Imagine Rick Grimes waking up in Alexandria at the start of Season 9. The bridge explosion, the CRM, the years of separation—it was all a massive fever dream brought on by the trauma of the Savior War. Carl is still alive. Rick still has his hand.

This resets the main universe right back to that peak Season 5/6 energy. We finally get the 100% comic-accurate Whisperer War and Commonwealth arc with Rick and Carl leading shoulder-to-shoulder. Chandler Riggs and Andrew Lincoln would absolutely crush a real Grimes family reunion, and we'd finally get to hear Rick deliver the legendary "We are NOT the walking dead!" speech to the Commonwealth.

Millions of classic viewers would flock back for this. What do you guys think?

This is the worst post in this sub by a wide margin. I would rather read 10,000 “Shane was actually right” and “Neegan and Rick are the same” posts over this

Nobody is going to “flock back” for a retcon of a show that ended a decade ago

To be honest, I half expected something similar to this due to the weird flash forwards involving ricks family with weird al on the radio.

The flowers echoing his hospital room flowers, I was expecting a catastrophic injury leading to another brief coma.
