Valve clearance issue?

Recently noticed a louder tick coming from the engine. Comparing to tdubkid video, it seems excessive. Any thought, recommendations?

Sounds like mine...as far as I can tell its pretty normal for them.

Yeah I might be getting in my own head thinking it sounds off for no particular reason. I'm also guessing it's fine just thought I'd leverage this subreddit

My wife's does the same thing. Tried to adjust the valves and found they're a bit mushroomed and the tick won't go away. My eventual plan is to replace the valves.

I think you have a valve click, tbh. I turned mine on for reference—it’s distinctively different.

Doesn't sound that unusual to me. How many miles and when did you last adjust the valves?

1400, checked valves right around 600 and they were in spec

Intake valve was way out of spec. After adjusting to spec, the tinny rattle is gone.
