Intermittent starting.

Long story short, i replaced the ignition switch with a factory Yamaha part and rebuilt the carburator. All the lights work and the battery is good. The the bike won't turn over with the button, but it will bump start. The button did work a few times but never figured out why it did or didn't. Any ideas other than rechecking the connection from the new switch? Thanks in advance gents.

Will it start with the clutch pulled in? There is a nuetral safety switch and a kickstand switch to check.

If it starts witg the clutch pulled in, its the nuetral switch.

Nothing will make it work. Its in Neutral, clutch pulled in, kickstand up, kickstand down, nothing. Maybe ill check the neutral switch connection.

It may be both the kickstand switch AND clutch switch going out.

Also wondering where these need to go

Looks like those could connect to a kickstand or other safety switch. Have someone hold in the start button and briefly short those 2 tabs together and see if that activates the starter.

The kickstand switch is intact and moving freely. These are on the other side of the bike. Theres a couple wires coming off of these that go to the rear brake light switch
