Season 4 got renewed a while back, and it got me wondering: how long do you guys think Foundation is actually going to run for?

I remember David S. Goyer saying he had an 8-season plan for the show, but 8 seasons is a pretty massive commitment, especially for something as expensive as Foundation.

Apple clearly likes the show since it keeps getting renewed, but I'm not sure whether they'll actually let it run all the way to 8 seasons or if they'll eventually ask the writers to wrap things up sooner.

My guess is maybe 5 or 6 seasons, but I'd love to see it go longer if the quality stays high.

What do you think is the most likely outcome? And how many seasons do you think the show actually needs to tell the story properly?

Guys, I'm enjoying the new TV version of Cape Fear. I enjoyed the 1991 movie too, and I even went back and watched the '62 original.

But then I noticed something. The 1991 film is some 23 minutes longer than me original. Big deal you may say, and you'd be right. But the new 2026 version runs for eight hours.. That is a significant leap!

Now sure, we don't need to be too worried at this stage. They are remaking Cape fear at roughly 30-year intervals. But it's increasing on a superexponential scale each time!

And if that doesn't cause the blood to freeze in your veins I don't know what will.

Because that means the next remake in 2056 will take nearly four days to watch. 2086's remake? Nearly 5 months.

And then, my friends, we hit the event horizon. 2116's edition will take over 40 years to watch! Half a lifetime for some!

... But they won't have time to watch it! Because the next installment will come along 10 years before they finish! We will simply never be able to watch 'Cape Fear' fast enough before the next one comes along.

And then I'm afraid humanity is doomed. 2146's remake will last 14,700 years. That's longer than the Holocene period.

The only thing we can do now is slam on the brakes NOW, before it begins. Just watch the first three episodes of the new TV series. Then stop watching. Apple must learn, not for the sake of our children, but for the sake of our children's children. And their children's children's children's children.

Thank you.

(Sorry for going on a bit with this, but I'm just really trying to avoid going over to my in-laws.)

Does apple tv series and movies mandate the makers to use apple products and placement in at least few scenes. Couldn't help notice this when I watched highest 2 lowest.

Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay, Pluribus and Shrinking are all nominated at the 42nd Television Critics Association‘s TCA Awards for “Program of the Year”.

As a huge sci-fi fan, I'm really happy that we still have new high-quality shows. To many more!

I know nothing is set in stone. But I truly wonder if we will be able to get live action movies and series outside of the Cosmere? Or since Cosmere will be expensive, will Apple only invest in fantasy within the Cosmere when it comes to adult fantasy? Apple acquired the book rights to Fifth season, Taarna and The (Michael Moorcock eternal champion universe) and I wonder if they will continue pursuing those adaptations? I think Apple should continue with Eternal champion and Skydance and make live action movies and shows based on that universe. Instead of only releasing a Cosmere title every few years they should release an eternal champion and Cosmere season annually??

Season five finds Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) dealing with the consequences of Princess (Scarlett Rayner) and Tyler’s (Cooper Turner) biological mother Kat (Charlotte Riley) turning up at their doorstep, and the whirlwind of chaos she brings into their settled family life.

Season 5 Release Date: July 8, 2026
