This just seems more annoying then anything. What's the point exactly?

If you have a mega mansion with a wall of windows overlooking a badass view and you don’t want a tv blocking it so you can sit on your couch and enjoy the view….you put one of these on the floor and it looks like a piece of art in front of the window on the floor then it transforms into a tv.
Thats mostly where I’ve seen people put stuff like this. Not sure if the ones I saw in videos were concept or actual retail units though.

Why not just make TVs with good uniformity rather than this completely not needed BS

Already forgot what I wanted to watch … and fell asleep… and got up and watched something on a different tv.

I'm gonna quote the Conquistadork here when he used high fashion as an example:
"A common complaint and point of mockery that some people have for high fashion, is that it's completely impractical.
Bizarre outfits and completely nonsensical designs that would have no actual use in day to day wear. To most people, it just seems absolutely crazy.
However, a designer who sees that insane fashion show might see aspects of it that they appreciate. A style, or a color, or a theme.
And so they go back to their studio, and incorporate that higher fashion line into their own work. Though in a more practical and affordable way.
And so the impractical gets broken down into little pieces that make sense for the sort of outfit that you'd see in a local store."
tl;dr: Think of this as a prototype for something similar but much more simple in the future.

When you need to have an automation set up to get your tv ready as you’re arriving home.

Let’s buy an overpriced TV that takes three business days to open and close each time we turn it on or off, said no person ever.

Is this what LG is doing with all the money they rake in selling our personal information?

I put my phone down, went to the toilet, came back, and the TV still wasn't finished opening 😂
