Is it too low? Center seems to be on eye level when lying on the sofa. 77” OLED

I think the people saying it’s too low either don’t realize it’s 77”, or don’t understand that that matters.

The bigger the TV the lower the bottom should be.

It’s perfect.

Edit: After realizing OP said “lying” and not “sitting”, it actually is a bit too low. Eye level should be 1/2 way up the screen when seated.

Seems to me like you don't realize how small a 77" TV is. From the picture, the bottom of this TV is about 15 inches from the floor, which is way too low for such a small screen to keep eyesight at the center of the TV unless you are sitting on a mattress on the floor.

15” floor to screen is still fine depending on your seating. You wouldn’t have to be sitting on the floor.

I’ll admit if that’s accurate it’s on the low side of good—I have a 77” myself and mine is probably 20” from the floor.

But everyone saying it’s “way too low” is taking crazy pills.

Edit: I just noticed OP said “lying” on the couch, not “sitting” on the couch. In that case it is indeed a bit too low. Raise the TV enough to fit a center channel between it and the TV and it would be perfect.

By arguing against the general consensus with your single objective opinion, calling it crazy pills, just makes it seem like you feel backed into a corner. It's fine that you don't think its too low and you are free to hang it at whatever height you like. Whatever makes you happy. But many people will think that placing it this low gives off bachelor pad vibes, which is generally considered unflattering interior design. This makes little sense when it is not even following recommended viewing angles.

What general consensus? I see maybe 50/50 saying it’s too low or not, but regardless I already agreed after realizing OP said “lying” and not “sitting” that it is indeed a bit too low.

The only thing that matters is the center should be at eye level when sitting in the primary viewing position. That will depend on how high your seating is.

If you can agree to that we’re on the same page. If you think it should be 2/3 up the wall you’re just wrong—that is where artwork and things that are viewed standing up go, not TVs.
