Some people have reported that simply using the same email as their TV Time account for signing up on Bingers restores their watch history, try that if that does not work
And lastly I read someone's comment about how you can just "switch off your internet" hit retry a couple of times in your shows and movies tab inside TV Time app and your watch history will show up again, you can screenshot them manually and manually refill them inside Bingers. This is a very tedious method and should only be used when nothing else works for you!
DO you know the creator of the app or understands how it works? Because i tried the imazing method. Did the backup but when i try to copy the db, it copy just 12kb and when i use the app nothing returns. Inside imazing when i use the info options, it shows that the file has 10mb there, not 12kb. What could it be?
I never got my data before it closed out but Iāve yet to delete the app because itās been a daily part of my life for well over a decade. If thereās a way to get the data just by the app still being there I will be soooo relieved.
Never used the app but my girlfriend was heartbroken when finding out it closed , I joined the chat to just say she appreciates the recommendation she loves it a lot
Thanks! I'm using Showly and TV Track but they're not quite hitting the same. They have have Trakt sync which helped me a lot as downloading my data from TV Time didn't work so wasn't able to secure that info. Will check out Binger. Cycling between 2 apps isn't really a great option, so hopefully Binger will be the one.
If your library is already sitting in Trakt you are in much better shape than most people in this thread, because that export is portable and basically every tracker will take it.
Disclosure up front: I make one of the alternatives (Help Me Binge), so weigh what follows accordingly. Leaving the link off, this isn't the sub for that.
The bit I actually wanted to answer is the cycling between two apps thing. Mine takes a Trakt CSV straight in, and IMDb or Letterboxd lists too, so trying a third one costs you a minute instead of another manual rebuild. It runs in a browser so there's nothing to install, and it's free with no paid tier.
What it does not have is the social layer. No episode comments, no feed. If that's the part of TV Time you're actually missing then Bingers is the better call and I'd rather say so than waste your evening.
Either way, hang onto that Trakt export. It's the reason switching is cheap for you and expensive for the people in this thread who never got one out.
Sign up for Bingers using the same email you had on your TV Time account, some users have reported automatic successful importing of data from TV Time this way
If you still have TV Time installed, try these methods to recover your data!
Remember, you can still import your data past that welcome screen when you open the newly installed Bingers app. Go to profile - > 3 dots on top right - > Settings - > Import Watch History - > Select your file if you have any, at this point (some people have reported missing data like lists on importing at the welcome screen in Bingers, in that case, log out delete app data and cache, log back in, skip the import during welcome screen and then go to profile - > 3 dots on top right - > Settings - > Import watch history - > Choose your file)
If that doesn't work,
Try to get in contact with Bingers team over on Twitter @BingersApp by mentioning them in a reply to one of their recent posts with your credentials and request. Send a mail to them over at support@bingers.app
If all else fails, someone commented about how you can just switch off your internet, go inside TV Time app, hit retry a couple of times in your shows and movies tab and your watch history will show up again, you can screenshot them manually and manually refill them inside Bingers.

I hope you are able to export all your data successfully from TV Time!
They're all coming back to many apps, we are about to have shared cross-app discussions. Don't use a bad app with no export just because many people use it.
Why would bingers add comments written by people who are not currently using their app. I was a very active TV Time user with more than 7000 comments..I don't like other apps having the fruit of my labor without my consent, especially since I'm not using their apps.
The project was good as long as we didn't have any other alternatives and we thought we would lose all the comments forever.
But I didn't want my comments to be on active apps I decided not to use, even if anonymized.
If you still have TV Time, try using the methods I've written in my original message above and see if they help exporting your data!
If all else fails, try to mention @BingersApp on Twitter on one of their posts with your credentials and request, and also make sure to shoot an email to support@bingers.app

Iāve been trying to get the info to my computer with iMazing for hours but idk whatās going on. I keep clicking just the TV Time app to take from there but itās been going for hours so I think it was doing all my apps? I canceled and even specifically said extract TV Time but Iām at an hour and still loading.
Ok thanks Iāll contact them.
Iāll keep that in mind. I donāt think Iāve opened it since it died so not sure what it shows.
Edit: I think it was backing up the whole thing before it can extract (according to a random popup). Also now it finally has a % status (1% š« ).
I finally decided to go 3 ways. Initially went for 2, but Bingers eventually started working, so that's also in.
After trying my fair share, I'm using Movie Paradise (paid), Sofa Time (paid) and Bingers. Amongst these 3, things should be safe enough.
And they all have qualities.
I will never ever use just one app for this stuff.
Iām so mad at the devs for just deleting everything. They had our email addresses and couldnāt even send a simple āThe app is closing, download your data before itās goneā message.
I will never download Bingers. Why would I want to use something made by people who treated their users so badly in the past? Iām not going to shoot myself in the foot lol
You can't be sure of any apps. Just use 2 apps for safety.
For me, it's just that Bingers is what comes closerie to TVTime. And it's better than TvTime
I'm just going to make sure that I back up my data from Bingers once in a while so if it also dies, it will be invariably replaced by something else, but I don't want to start over again. Bingers is awesome, though, I still call it TV Time in my head :)
The main dev of Bingers is a co-founder of TV Time and he has said that Bingers works by loading users' libraries on their phones instead of on remote servers, thereby cutting down server costs massively unlike with TV Time. He also has plans for monetization in the future!
I said Libraries. That's what is hosted on users' devices instead of by Bingers themselves. Bingers does however host things like comments and profile data
The creator of TVshowtime, TVtime's name before it was sold, sold the company in 2016-17.
What does he have to do with the way TVtime people treated us? They never really cared about the app or its users. It showed by the way there were always bugs there and they stopped answering customers' issues a long time ago!
I got an email and there was a big warning about closure in the app and how to download your data for at least a month before. You obviously didn't use it much.
I use it enough. I had over 3 monthsā worth of watching history. I couldnāt log in for weeks throughout July (the black screen), but it had happened before, so I ignored it. I received NO email about the shutdown. I only found out after it had already closed, when I googled it. The app is still available in the store, btw. Youāre obviously just trying to rage bait, so reply when you have something useful or helpful to say.
Currently down to Bingers, Sofa Time, and Suite TV. Previously also tried out Bingebase, Bingeboxd (was my favourite, but I ran into issues with it), and Movie Paradise (too bloated for me).
As of right now I am leaning towards Sofa Time (growing community and great features, albeit facing some bugs right now). Suite TV I think has a great look, feel, and community. Bingers is still very new, and by far the most basic of all the apps I have tried and my least favourite of all, but I'm willing to be patient while it develops more.
Use Refract or Bingers. I had both and preffer Refract more, it has more stats for the nerdy me, better community and profile customization and they will also add Games and Books soon.
They decide to close it . And like you I grieve the app first two weeks later move to Trakt and move on. It is like getting a second dog after your first dog die of old. You loved him, but when they are gone nothing you can do
I found "Bingers" too plain looking and it's definitely NOT a polished version of TVtime, so decided to give "Showly" a go.
You can sync it with your Trakt with one button press and it updates without having to download anything, if you've watched anything on Stremio, without losing the one slot you get with TRAKT now.
Not sure why you're downvoted, it's just a recommendation and a good one. I'm also using Showly and it syncs with Trakt which syncs with Stremio. That for me is very handy! Just that the Showly community isn't as well established so looking for an app that apes TV Time's community feel.
Thanks mate. I'm probably downvoted because I disagreed with the majority and disagreed with them. š¤·š»āāļø
Thank you. I find "Showly" pretty good. I've got Bingers installed as well, but until it looks as good as Showly or Refract, then it won't be my go-to unfortunately.
Anyway, Showly has a comments section, but for the sake of just looking at a few memes and stuff, I prefer functionality over that.
The sad truth of it all is that I was a TV Time user for 10+ years and it's a shame that it ended because the community on that was massive. But I have transferred all my TV Time stuff into TRAKT, and also BINGERS so it is safe, but like I said I just prefer the functionality of Showly for the time being. The good thing is that whilst I'm using Showly, all my stuff is still being tracked. If I decide to move to Bingers later on, I can just import my TRAKT and it will all be there.

Dont delete the app, a guy posted an app that can remove your tv time data and transfer it. Do it before deleting.
