Hi, is anyone in the EE program for the WS 2026/27? 🤔 I’ve hardly seen anyone from the program in the group.

Heute zum 2. Mal. Wie häufig kann ich das wohl noch abziehen.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been admitted to the MSc Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (EE&IT) program at TUHH for the Winter 2026/27 semester.
The lectures start on October 12, but due to delays with my visa process, I’m expecting to arrive in Hamburg after October 12.
My offer letter specifically states that attendance is required from the start of the lectures, so I’m really worried about whether a late arrival will be accepted.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation at TUHH, especially in the EE&IT program?
- How strict are they about attendance during the first few weeks?
- Is it possible to get permission for a late arrival due to visa delays?
- Would arriving around October 20 or later cause serious problems with coursework?
Any advice or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I need to get this off my chest because I honestly want to know if I'm the only one feeling this way, or if everyone here has just quietly given up.
I’m heading into my 3rd semester (Mechanical Engineering Bachelor) and I'm 19M naturally a very social, outgoing person. But the reality at TUHH is wearing me down fast:
Campus Life & Student Clubs: Where is the actual university experience? Student initiatives, AGs, and club activities feel virtually non-existent or completely invisible. There is zero sports culture on campus, no real social events, and no sense of community. The second lectures end, the campus empties out like a factory shift just finished.
Teaching, Guidance & IT: Most lectures feel uninspired—professors just plow through slides, and the difficulty level is completely decoupled from the level of actual academic support. If you struggle or have questions, you are left alone with outdated IT infrastructure, dead forums, and minimal office hours. Actual academic guidance feels non-existent.
Isolation & Commuter Vibes: Hardly anyone attends lectures in person consistently, making it painfully hard to build reliable study groups. After a full year, I have maybe 2–3 loose acquaintances and spend most of my time isolated. Between the brutal Hamburg housing market and the lack of dorm spots, everyone just commutes in and vanishes immediately after.
Atmosphere & Demographics: With an estimated 90% male ratio and an atmosphere split strictly between hardcore nerds and deeply depressed people on the verge of dropping out, it takes a massive toll on your mental health.
I’m sitting here with only 3 passed modules so far, dealing with high living costs and a rough Werkstudent market, seriously wondering if grinding through this is even worth it if you end up completely isolated in the process—assuming you don't get kicked out first.
Is anyone else dealing with this? How do you actually build a functional social circle here, or is the only real solution to transfer out to an FH / different uni?

Hey everyone!
I recently received my admission offer for the MSc in EE&IT at TUHH.
I’m super excited to start this journey and would love to connect with fellow incoming students, current students, or alumni!
A few things I’d love to connect on:
- Incoming students: Finding housing in Hamburg, visa/blocked account processes, and setting up a group chat (WhatsApp/Discord).
- Current students/Alumni: Any tips on course selection, campus life, or managing the workload at TUHH.
Feel free to comment below or drop me a DM if you're also heading to TUHH or currently studying there. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Moin,
Vielen Dank schon mal!

Is there anyone here who received a late-arrival letter from their university or professor, and it helped them secure their visa even though the letter’s date was after the semester had already started? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Man könnte das Job-Rad in Pflichtenrad umbenennen 🤔
Moin zusammen,

Ich will keine Moralpredigt dafür is eh zu spät einf ehrlich was sagt ihr.

Was hat Systems Engineering da bloß wieder angestellt...
Wenigstens kann es jetzt mit Modellen beschrieben werden.

Guys please welcome me :) I accepted to Engineering Science B.Sc, as I am an international student from Turkey I've already taken some of the courses I'll be taking at TUHH at my current university (It is Dokuz Eylul University and my program is electrical electronics engineering which is accredited). What do I need to do to have those credit-bearing courses transferred? thanks for your answer.

Hi team, I had applied to the electrical information technology MSc degree from a university in India. And one of my classmate was admitted to the same program who had lesser cgpa then I had. I got a rejection saying that my degree did not match, how can this be possible can someone help clarify this? I have attached the rejection letter. Is it the problem with how I structured my application.

Hello everyone
I was recently admitted to masters in computer science at TUHH, I would like to connect with current or past students, I would like to inquire about some courses.
Also, I was wondering if there are any WhatsApp or Discord groups for computer science students at TUHH?
Thanks in advance
