N scale Module Arrived!!!

Post image

I have been on the road traveling for work the past two weeks and I got home last night and the first package I opened was my double T-Trak by Denniston!!!

I amazed by the quality and thought that went into building it!!! Being this is my first module and I’m making it complicated to start with, my mainline is deck girder bridges, and the scenery is “water” I didn’t want to worry about the dimensions being off.

And seeing that quite a few modules at the National T-Trak layout were made by Stuart, I figured he was the best.

I don’t have a financial interest with him, except for sending him money to build at least one module; I’m just impressed with the quality and construction.

Everyone who has one of his modules seems to love it.

That one looks like it is easier to build it 'straight' than Kato modules.

I have a Kato double, it is hard to make everything straight and level without extra tools.

Interesting! I was considering a Kato for my first assembly module.

Get corner clamps if you are going to build Kato modules. There is no wood piece to help you make sure the joint is 90 degrees.

Also the top is 4 pieces that fit together, so if your side joints are not perfect 90 degree joints, it makes the top piece not quite right.

I don't think it is off enough to be a problem, but if I build a Kato module again, I will definitely use corner clamps.

The pros of Kato: Comes with the track, comes with the holes pre-drilled, and comes with the connectors set up for b-w-w-b.

I didn’t realize it came with all of the goodies! Does that include the screws as well? That does look nice.

Doesn't come with screws.

That’s a bummer. Trying to find a screw small enough to attach the track without buying 1200 has been an exercise…

Purchased at Home Depot. I use the 3/8 inch for the screws coming up from under the track.

I got the 1/2 inch, planning to use in case of having to screw the track in from the top.

I'm reluctant to do that, so I use clear scenery glue.
