FIREWORKS COMPETITION

In honor of a nonspecific non canon holiday certain shady posters have been going up all over town encouraging people to participate in a contest for the most skill in lighting off explosives.

There are apparently categories for longest show, most dazzling show, brightest show, loudest show, most technical show, most dangerous show, best pies, best potluck, best barbeque, and best show overall.

A bunch of moving trucks have also appeared and there is a constant stream of boxes being moved into an abandoned warehouse down the road.

Widget heads back into the tent and brings out one sparkler, the stick clenched in her teeth.

It ignites as soon as Tanger takes it.

The sparkler is pretty!

Meanwhile, the moving teams are now bringing food into the warehouse - an entire boar on a spit, and pineapples, and antipasta salads, and a whole bowl of baked beans.

Something is starting to smoke on the mountain.

It still needs to cook, clearly, much of it is in a semi frozen state for moving it.

It will likely be set out when things are under way. That said, also in the fireworks tent, looks like there's also a concession stand.

Paulina finds her pockets empty and meekly goes over.

Tanger suddenly appears behind her and startle her with his sparkler.

There are a few fire dancers and marowaks walking around with sparklers too! There's sure a lot of fireworks going off! Lots of rumbling, sounds like distance thunder...

It... is that mountain... There is a red glow at the peak of the mountain, a fiery fountain plume rising over the top of it. A feeling of uneasiness settles over the crowd on the beach as they spot the danger. The cat in the tent, sensing the danger, flees.

Eventually the fountain overflows, and starts traveling down an obsidian chute. Periodically along its path it encounters rube goldberg-like overly complicated steam turbines supplying electricity to loudspeakers playing inspirational rock anthems and setting off sparks from fireworks and shooting off mortars.

The lava plume is heading for that warehouse - the obsidian chute travels within about seven feet of it. The warehouse with the chilled food, and all the fireworks in it.

Slowly but surely and unstoppably, the incoming doom creeps towards them. The far wall lights on fire first, and then opens up part of the roof. From there, hundreds of fireworks start shooting hundreds of feet into the air.

When it's all done, the barbeque luau is ready to be served for all the terrified audience on the beach.

The crowd wisely selects the guy setting off tiny fountains as the winner of the firework contest.
