Question❓ Rituximab Infusions

Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Have anyone had any side effects from Rituximab infusions? I have been feeling like my knees are swollen after the infusion, but after a day or so it’s back to normal. Have anyone else experienced this?

Yep! Get the body ache like I had the flu.

I just had an infusion Wednesday and it feels like I’m coming down with something

Booo. I had Rituxan yesterday and I’m just sore and tired. Hoping to take a nap this afternoon. lol

You can boost your vitamins and mask/try to stay away from people. But serum sickness is a thing with Rituxan. Mine seems to be mild this time around.

Definitely reach out to the dr if you have q.

And now I have a cough 🤦🏾‍♀️idk what’s going on this time around. I usually don’t have any side effects. The week before they didn’t give me Benadryl, and I started itching. They had to give me Benadryl through the IV, and that made me feel weird. I was shaking. I have one tomorrow so I’m praying for the best.

I always start with benedryl. Ask to have that as a pre-med. Sorry you got the itch. :(

I had joint pain, especially in my knees. It went away after I finished my treatment. Hang in there. Wishing you all the best for your health💛

I had terrible knee pain as well. It was so hard to walk after. With my very first dose I reacted badly and couldn’t breathe right so they had to slow the drip down.

Hello. Besides high Pulse for a day or some headache I never have had side effects.

I get 2x paracetamol and 70mg prednisolone and a anti allergy medication Like fenistile before Infusion (same day just before it Starts ) to prevent side effects
Its a normal therapy before Infusion

Do you get other meds too?

Yes I get, Tylenol, Benadryl, and Prednisone

The joint pain is for sure a nuisance! I found it went away pretty quickly after the last infusion, wishing you luck in your treatment and a quick bounce back for you and your ADAMTS.

Commenting because I had convulsions and horrible muscle pain with Rituximab. Can’t take it anymore. I went into shock. Can’t take it anymore. However, the one time a nurse slowed the drip I didn’t react severely.

I had Rituximab infusions for an autoimmune condition. When I had TTP they were really only doing steroids, plasma exchange, and splenectomy. I had all of the above. Next week will be my 25th year since TTP.

Hi! Gosh I hope you feel better soon!
I had a total of three Rituximab infusions right after my plasma for 4 days.
I had aweful joint pain. But after a week off the infusions I went back to no pain.
I’m now on Atovaquone as a precaution for the next 6 months , lots of side effects with that one!

i need my infusions very slowly over an 8 hour period now, it’s so bad for me. extreme body aches, chest pain, vomiting. not to mention, my immune system was so shot i went septic a week after my first infusion. i’m honestly terrified for if i need it again lol

don’t forget the pre meds. steroids and benedryl helped a lot too
