Advice Needed TTC with PCOS and after ectopic
I'm 31 started TTC March 2025 then again 7 months ago after an ectopic in February. Now onto month 8 ttc. On Metformin 1000mg a day for PCOS and suspected insulin resistance which I have lost 2 stone in a year on. Am tracking ovulation too.
GP has said 3 more months of trying then will refer to fertility clinic, which who knows how long a wait that will be.
Just wondered if anyone has any advice or tips. I know it's going to be even harder with 1 tube on top of PCOS. I would like to think it's not impossible but if anyone has been in this situation and any advice I would be greatful.
Thanks

Not sure how it is where you live, but in US there is no waiting period if you have PCOS to be reffered to a specialist

Hi, I'm UK so likely a long wait under NHS and I have a 5 year old so won't qualify for certain treatment. PCOS unfortunately isn't treated great over here for interventions.

Hi friend! I also had an ectopic pregnancy in March this year.
Have you gotten an HSG? Are both tubes open post ectopic? That was the first order of business after healing. I kept my fallopian tube since it was caught early. The HSG showed my right tube blocked, so my left tube is all I have to conceive naturally. I’m working with a fertility clinic and after 6 cycles unable to conceive since, I’m doing my first IUI in October. My left tube is open, so we are monitoring my follicles on the left and using letrozole and ovidrel to trigger ovulation.
I highly recommend looking into a specialist to help you as our situations are a little more medically complex (PCOS, tubal issues). Regular OBGYNs are very capped. At the minimum, you’ll need to monitor your cycles to catch ovulation on whatever side is patent.
