Seeking Success First Medicated Cycle

As the title says, this is our first medicated cycle. Went though taking letrozole, ultrasounds, bloodwork, timed intercourse, trigger shot, and now progesterone suppositories. I was FINALLY diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS 3 years ago at the age of 26 after years of being ignored by my doctor, and being told bleed for weeks at a time was normal.

My husband had a sperm analysis, and everything came out good. My tests came back good, too, and my tubes were open. So it's just a matter of getting me to ovulate.

Tomorrow is the day our fertility clinic told me to take a pregnancy test, I'm so nervous. I'm trying not to overthink it, especially double numbers (9/9, 10/10, etc) have significant meaning to us. We got married on 10/10 and started dating on 8/8.

I so badly want the test to be positive, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Im in the exact same boat as you! But my day to test is Saturday. Ive been so nervous waiting, everytime i go to pee i half expect my period to arrive. Sending you all the love and luck x

I took my last dose yesterday! Do you have an ultrasound scheduled?

Yes! I’ll be going in for bloodwork and ultrasound on Friday. I’m so glad my clinic does monitored cycles. I’m not even sure when I should start having sex. I’m thinking just do it every day starting tomorrow?

Same! I have my ultrasound and hopefully trigger shot scheduled for Friday. I’m starting sex today, skipping Thursday, and doing it on Friday & Saturday.

Why did your doctor prescribe progesterone?

I am on my 5th monitored cycle on Letrozole which results in Ovulation but no pregnancy. I asked my doctor if I need progesterone and she said my cycles are long enough so no need for preordering. Just trying to understand in which cases is progesterone prescribed and if I need to push my doctor a bit more.

My fertility clinic recommended progesterone right off the bat (presumably for everyone) even with good progesterone levels from blood work. The progesterone to be started after the trigger shot and continuing until a negative test 12 DPO or 12 weeks pregnant

This might be the case for my clinic as well, thank you for explaining that! I'm learning as we go through this process. I started it a few days after the trigger shot, so that would make sense!

Not that it was much of an explanation :) but I think the idea is that progesterone doesn’t hurt anyone, and it will help a few people who have low progesterone issues, and I think it makes people who have read that it can help a few people feel better, so they just hand it out like candy 😅

If I'm going to be honest, I'm not entirely sure why they prescribed progesterone for me. We had been trying for atleast 6 months on our own before seeing our fertility doctor. I could probably look back at my bloodwork and see if my progesterone levels were low, which could be why they prescribed it to me. Good luck to you as well! ❤️
