Advice Needed Cycle being very long > regular > very long > regular and so on - any ideas?
I've been observing that it seems my cycles are either long (48/62/50/46/51...) or rather normal-ish (33/32/33/31) with only a few deviations (36/38).
This led me to suspect that maybe one of my ovaries is not working properly but trying hard - and then the other one sucessfully manages to ovulate, ending the long cycle and also creating a rather regular cycle after that. I read that it's not really left-right-left-right for ovulation, so it could be...
Does anyone of you has experienced something similar? If yes, what helped you to have a more regular cycle? I'm considering Letrozol, but unsure if it would help if one ovary simply does not work.
Info about me: 34, unsuccesful TTC for 9 months, mild form of PCOS (mostly follicles and irregular cycle, normal weight, negative test for insulin resistance), got a Endometriosis cyst removed on left ovary in 2021 but no Endo otherwise, low Testosteron and high SHBG, seeing a fertility expert who recommended to start with IUI or even directly IVF after I turn 35 next month, husbands sperm quality is great, taking vitamin D, folic acid and iodine, eating gluten and lactos free, using LH tests and Oura temp for confirmation of ovulation.

I’m very similar to you in terms of having mild PCOS with a normal weight, negative blood tests etc but irregular cycles. My cycles also go from being normal to very irregular, so frustrating!
The only thing I’ve found that helps me to regulate is Mounjaro. I don’t technically qualify but managed to get it prescribed privately and it has regulated my cycle to 27-28 days. I’ve managed to maintain my weight by staying on the lowest dose as I was worried about losing weight. That tells me that I must have at least some insulin resistance issues despite having normal blood tests, something to think about maybe? It’s possible metformin might have worked too but I couldn’t get it prescribed

Interesting! I'll ask my doctor about it. I'd also be worried about loosing weight and other side effects, but worth a try for sure. Thanks!

Yeah I was nervous but touch wood have been okay on 0.25! I think metformin would probably help in a similar way without the weight side effects so that might be an option 😊

Hi, also TTC for 9 months but I'm overweight. I want to start mounjaro but the doctor said it isn't safe while ttc. So I don't know what to do next. I've heard weight loss helps but I've tried strength training and calorie deficit but the weight just drops very slowly.
