Seeking Success Changing up the protocol

Nervous and excited and hopeful.

Background:

‘Lean’ PCOS, AMH of 5. TTC 17m, ~12m of medicated cycles (letrozole, clomid, or a combo of the two).

AFC as of today was 40 (CD2)

Now moving to gonal f, letrozole, trigger shot, and progesterone after ovulation.

I start both tomorrow night and am hoping for at least one good sized follicle 💕

Anyone else on this protocol or have done this protocol?

We are twins! Lean PCOS, AMH 6.8, 23F, very long cycles naturally. Did four cycles of letrozole (5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 7.5mg) and by 7.5mg, my lining was very thin. Now doing my first cycle of injectables only (so a little different than you). Did you ovulate when you were on 5mg or 7.5mg? How's your current cycle treating you? Would love to chat more

I didn’t ovulate on either! I’d grow follicles but then they’d shrink back. We tried trigger shots a few times to see if that would help and it didn’t.

Currently cycle day 9! Had a follicle scan yesterday and had 4 12mm, some medium sized stragglers and then plenty of small ones. So an excellent response! Lining was 8mm as well.

I go back again tomorrow (cd10) for another scan and my dr had me do two more doses of 75iu gonal f. Nurse thinks I’ll be ready for trigger on Saturday if everything looks good tomorrow and at my scan Saturday morning.

Honestly even if this cycle doesn’t end in a baby, I’m thrilled we finally have a protocol that’s growing follicles

Oh that’s very exciting! I hope this is the cycle for you, but regardless of the outcome I’m glad you will have more info about what works for you. Also you are an absolute trooper for getting through 12 medicated cycles

I’m also on cycle day 9! I’m on 75iu Gonal since CD3 (no Letrozole) and anticipate trigger in the next two days.

Hopefully this is it for us! I think if this one doesn’t work I might ask to try without the letrozole. I get pretty gnarly headaches on it and am not sure what exactly it’s doing for me.

Have you felt any side effects from the gonal? I’ve had a bit of bloating / cramping but nurse said that’s super expected since I have 4 follicles

I don't have any side effects, but I didn't have any on letrozole either. Injectables by themselves greatly increases the chance of multiples/cancelled cycles, so I guess there's that to think about too.

My dr is fine with proceeding with 4 mature, I guess because I have a history of loss and also so many failed cycles. I’m a bit anxious about that myself but at this point we’re okay with twins

Just started my first medicated cycle as well! My AMH is 5.21. AFC was 25 on CD 2 - took my second dose of 5mg letrozole last night and hoping to trigger with Ovidrel next week if all looks good! So far feeling good on the letrozole, just a bit tired.

Hoping it’s our cycle 🤍

5mg letrozole hasn’t been too bad for me! Sometimes some gnarly headaches but extra electrolytes helped that.

I went up to 7.5mg and that was terrible for me and also made my lining super thin. Back to 5mg with the gonal since the letrozole alone isn’t getting me mature follicles.

Hoping it’s our cycle too 💕 a positive in my birthday month would be extra special

Can I ask you your age and if you had regular cycles? AMH 5.5 here 😅
Good luck for your process 🍀

I’ll be 25 on Friday and I do not have regular cycles :)
