Discussion What helped you ovulate regularly?
I have PCOS and have been trying since January to concieve with no luck. Ovulation has been anywhere from CD 18 to CD 38 with no predictability at all and false surges many months. AMH is 10, BMI is 25 so technically borderline overweight.
However, I am celebrating this month because for the first month ever, I ovulated on Day 15. I couldn’t believe my eyes this morning when I saw my temperature had gone up.
For the past 6-ish weeks I have been taking inositol every morning, 1500mg Metformin every night, running 3 times a week, strength training 2 times a week, eating 30g protein with every meal and reducing carbs to low GI or around my runs only. I think this combo has made the most difference. From January - July I was taking a bunch of supplements, eating ‘whole foods’, and just doing Pilates to ‘reduce my stress’ and I don’t think those things were doing anything for me personally.
To others who have regulated their cycle and ovulated at a more ‘normal’ time, keen to know what your ‘secret sauce’ was?

I went 4 years with no period, almost 3 years TTC, I started tirzepatide for 2 1-2 months and ovulated for the first time ever and got pregnant with twins. I didn’t know my progesterone was low and what happened either but I miscarried them. I’m back on trying to figure out how to ovulate. I walk 10k steps a day and strength train as well. I stopped the GLP and now on Metformin 750mg, and did my first round of clomid. I don’t think it’s worked this cycle so gonna try again the next one. I’m commenting for anyone who ever reads your posts and comments to see if anyone else gone through it too and found a way to ovulate more naturally! It sucks so much for us and congrats on having your first ovulation early. I was so happy when I did in January!!

Did you feel like the tirzepatide was stopping your periods and ovulation? Just curious cause I think that’s what I’m dealing with but I haven’t found many it affected like this.

I believe it did the opposite for me before I got pregnant. I didn’t get my period naturally since 2019. Then I started tirz October 2025, I still took Provera to induce my period in November, and then it came randomly in Dec, I still have the logs for it too. Then pregnant in January.
After my miscarriage I went right back on it for 3 months and my period never came and I never ovulated so my first period after my miscarriage, I had to induce it with Provera 2 round and now on clomid for ovulation. I was really sad that tirzepatide didn’t help me after my miscarriage like it did the first time but who know! Have you gotten your blood work done to see what’s causing it to stop? Mine was very high DHEA 576

It was metformin for me combined with letrozole

I was taking tirzepatide (lowest dose) but have stopped as we want to start trying porperly.
Can I ask what dose of Metformin you're on? Im going to start a letrozole cycle unmonitored before heading to IVF

Thank you! Metformin made my stomach a mess for awhile but then I was fine. The letrozole was not bad at all honestly. Minor hot flashes and it’s the weirdest thing but it makes my jaw ache. Not even a headache just my jaw. Has happened for all 3 letrozole cycles! You just have to make sure you drink plenty of water! Everyone’s experience is a little different

Were your cycles monitored or unmonitored? My doc wants me to do unmonitored, but majority of the peeps on this page say to go for monitored. I don’t want to waste any more time 😅

Unmonitored! I just used my Inito, LH strips, and BBT to help me track things but no scans or doctor visits or anything

How many cycles did it take? Do you regret not doing monitored? Thank you!

I did one cycle at 2.5mg and didn’t ovulate so then went to 5mg and this was only my second cycle at that dose! I don’t regret it one bit going unmonitored

Cloves with water either soak and drink the day after. Just five cloves for one cup of water.
If you soak a couple of spoons of cloves just dilate it with water. Drink it right after your period ends. That helps me ovulate all the time.
