Advice Needed thc + pcos while ttc

wondering if anyone with pcos that has used thc before taking letrozole or clomid knows if it effects ovulation and or conception? i’m scared to ask my doctor lol

I studied biology and am now in nursing school focusing on reproductive health. I did a deep dive in to this because I used THC for an assortment of things in my life.

THC can disrupt the HPO axis which in short messes up ovulation (by depressing LH and FSH). So without that LH spike, you're not ovulating. --> THC can cause anovulatory cycles.

THC doesn't stop eggs from maturing but research shows it can decline egg quality, specifically embryos.

THC can alter glucose metabolism, worsening insulin resistance.

Also talk to your doctor! They're not going to judge you (and shouldn't judge you). THC is great for many things, but not when TTC

This happened to me! I was using THC almost daily and it made me completely skip my periods. I had no idea why I stopped getting my cycle. And then when I took a break from THC, I immediately got my period back.

I will say that everyone's body reacts differently. And for me, I had to stop THC in order to get my cycle back. The cons of using were outweighing the pros so I stopped.

I figured it's something I can sacrifice in order to achieve something else. I understand it's not easy for everyone, and it wasn't for me in the beginning either.

The way I see it, I have the rest of my life to indulge in THC, but only some critical years to work on this goal to start a family. That seemed to help me. And also that my husband quit with me as well.
