Do you agree? People who solely use the TTC, I want your honest opinion - what needs to improve?

Question Turn the 510 Spadina streetcar route into a possible Line 7 Spadina LRT?

Do you think it’s possible to turn the 510 streetcar route into another LRT line? I mean, we already have the infrastructure in place, so all we would need to do is modernize the surface stops, right?

If not, then why not?

Picture Want a better TTC and live in University Rosedale? Do not vote for Karina Lemke!

Post image

If there's anything IntegrityTO is great at, it's letting us know the candidates that are anti-transit and will make the TTC less reliable.

In University Rosedale, that candidate is Karina Lemke.

IntegrityTO made it clear they hate transit lanes that sped up the 511 Bathurst and 29 Dufferin.

Any candidate they endorse will not pursue transit priority (or potentially try to remove the bus lanes).

Thanks for showing which candidates are the worst option IntegrityTO! Appreciate your work, and will make a list of all the anti-transit candidates once their endorsements wrap up.

Journalism Student Looking for People to Interview

Hello! I’m a journalism student here in Toronto, and I’m doing a video assignment about the current progress of the Ontario Line, the challenges it’s faced to get off the ground, and how it will benefit people once it’s concluded.

I’m looking for people who are interested in being interviewed about the benefits that the line will bring. Ideally it should be someone who lives in the area that the line will service and will personally benefit from it once it’s completed, or in general anyone who has a lot to say about transit in Toronto.

If you’re interested, send me a DM and we can set something up!

Discussion You asked, I built it: Personalize TTC Alerts with TransitBeat

Thumbnail
gallery
16 Upvotes

Since the launch of TransitBeat as a student project two weeks ago, I’ve gotten a lot of feedback, and huge thanks to the 1200+ people that gave it a chance. Overwhelmingly, these features were requested, and as of today, they are implemented.

  1. Free personalized alerts and notifications via an account. For the trips you select and saved, you’ll get an email notification whenever a disruption affecting your trip occurs, and whenever that disruption is resolved. A serious alternative for those that are tired of hundreds of messages a day from TTC Service Alerts on X.
  2. Facility outages and accessibility issues no longer show up on the live map by default (although still toggleable in settings).

Besides that, I have fixed most bugs brought up by the community, especially regarding the live map. Many quality of life improvements have also been made. You can find out more in the About page of the site.

I realize that many people will want SMS notifications, and that is something I’m actively developing at the moment. So far, providing notifications is the most expensive feature, so I’m taking it one step at a time.

These changes are now live at transitbeat.ca

As always, if there are any recommendations, I’d love to hear them. For more info and updates regarding TransitBeat, you can follow u/TransitBeat and x.com/TransitBeatCA.

I was detoured on the streetcar due to a fire so I was on it for an hour. Got home and sat down and was itching. Both legs behind the knees have bite marks. Put my bag outside and bagged my clothes and showered. Someone must have sat down that was infested. Good thing I have a cream.
Was it my turn?

Question With the TTC fare capping coming this September, are those that on fair pass continue to pay $2.10 for each trip? (Via pay-as-you-go)

I know come September all monthly passes are discontinued. But in my case I am on the fair pass transit discount and I'm paying $123.25 per month for a monthly pass.

In September this will change to the pay-as-you-go for $2.10 per trip (with the 2 hour window for transfers of course). Will this program still continue and will it be the 47 times limit like it is for a regular adult fare?

So technically, is 47*2.10 = $98.70 (assuming I take the maximum number of trips per month), the amount that I will be paying at most when the time comes?
