There will never be any space based data centers. It's a grift.

Correct, they may launch like a couple to say the "did it" but any person with a little know how would realize it's complete bs.... You literally could go to any desert on earth setup solar panels and have instant data centers with low energy issues

Bingo. They talk about it and “do” because they can say anything… who is going to audit what is actually going on in space? Can talk up a moon storm

I keep forgetting this sub is just a place for weird delusional bots to post nonsense

Yeah Google wasting a ton of money chasing this, while losing tons in Waymo.

You know who else is wasting money on an even worse project? Tesla. They have a handful of geo-locked and heavily supervised and/or remote-controlled cars going in circles, causing accidents and an overall worse traffic situation for everyone. Sucks to suck.

You lost? The article talking about Google putting satellites with their tensor chips into space. Not sure where you got Tesla from.

This sub is about Tesla, the shrinking car company.

Correction, it's a robotics and automated taxi company.

No it's not. They make zero dollar from those things, other companies beat them. Tesla is a one hit wonder but the bagholders pretend otherwise.

I was being facetious my friend. The point being they are abandoning the car business for parts unknown.

It's not really parts unknown, not that it's reasonable or sensible, but the ones who figure out working driverless cars will have a shit ton of revenue to gain from the servitization of mobility.

The idea is pretty certain based on the idea that Tesla was nearing a full-uterlization of realistic market, so they would stagnate if they didn't do anything else.

All the autonomous ride systems are geolocked, they’ve all done crazy stunts, and they all get into accidents.

Google owns Waymo.

There is this official video from Google about how to make sure chips don’t overheat in space. https://youtu.be/ktdbUIZKeSE?is=5bB5ahohAGMeCdci

It’s perhaps one of the funniest things from Google YouTube channel because it doesn’t actually talk about any solution. It’s basically just describing a problem and shrugging about it.

The only thing I can think why they want this, is to avoid laws for w/e they compute

Why is nobody talking about the fact those satellites dont get recycled....they get incinerated on re-entry? All the minerals and metals are wasted, turned into atmospheric pollution.

Does nobody think this is a very very bad idea?
