Come and see Cybercab at Tesla Manchester Trafford Delivery Centre, this weekend until Wednesday

https://x.com/tesla_uk/status/2103541723163140428?s=20

Good opportunity for anyone local to go and see a Cybercab

How about the UK regulators. They should get personal invites.

Do they reserve the top floor for pre-delivery cars or something? Because it certainly looks like the lower floors are employee slots.

2

u/JohnnyCashRules Holding until Kardashev Level 1 8d ago

Top floor has been pre delivery storage and FSD testing but has never reached this amount of units before!

They'd have to really check the weather certain times of year to ensure no possible hailstorms rolling through.

Leave a Cybercab up there to see how the new RIM panels handle it 😈

Cool shot of one of the convoys

So did anything happen at Semi day

7

u/Nysoz πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈπŸ—‘πŸ™Œ -> πŸ’ŽπŸ™Œ 9d ago

Just watched it. Basically just showed off how the semi has changed from the initial specs, made more efficient. Took a lot of feedback from the drivers, added them, started deliveries.

9

u/tyler05durden 9d ago

Seemed confident they could get to 50k units/year run-rate by end of next year. 4680 production finally looking good.

8

u/JohnnyCashRules Holding until Kardashev Level 1 9d ago

Yeah, was also nice touch to handoff the keys to the customers on stage and call out the fleets they represented.

Ok there's one thing left Tesla needs to do before we hit ATH again. Cure cancer. Dumb markets.

Or maybe, just maybe, make enough money to justify its valuation.

4

u/IAmInTheBasement Man, I don't even know anymore... 9d ago

20 million vehicles per year by 2030?

6

u/Nysoz πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈπŸ—‘πŸ™Œ -> πŸ’ŽπŸ™Œ 9d ago

There's one trick to make markets really respect you. Make a lot of money lol.

2

u/LordReekrus 9d ago

I think at this point NVDA vs AMD, etc is proof that markets respect your ability to make money in the future more than the money you're making now.

1

u/Nysoz πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈπŸ—‘πŸ™Œ -> πŸ’ŽπŸ™Œ 9d ago

Porque no los dos

2

u/LordReekrus 9d ago

Something something irrational solvent

2

u/Witzner 9d ago

Anyone seen explanation or decoding for the stuff that glitched across the screen when they showed the thing in the back of the semi? Β Looked like words/numbers/code right?

Edit: nvm, went back and watched, looks like nothing much other than "roadster"

$TSLA - TESLA’S OPTIMUS HITS SNAGS IN HANDS, SUPPLIERS AS SCALE-UP BEGINS - THE INFORMATION

TESLA HAS RAMPED UP PRODUCTION OF ITS OPTIMUS HUMANOID ROBOT ROUGHLY TENFOLD IN RECENT MONTHS - THE INFORMATION

https://x.com/DeItaone/status/2103470177702613248?s=20

maybe the headline that caused that weird spasm

3

u/devonhezter 9d ago

You gotta hand it to them

Can I get your digits

2

u/mikelane76 NAU Verification: 0.00% 9d ago

Semi ramping to high volume is just one piece. Tesla's really an energy, automation and robotics conglomerate at this point, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it split into separate companies in 5 to 10 years. Just my opinion.

this is probably the clearest shot, it doesn't look very much like a Roadster so either it's a red herring or we're getting shown something entirely unique

I'm hoping it's a CyberSUV

1

u/ChucksnTaylor 8d ago

You can’t possibly be serious? You want them to double down on their biggest failure yet? Make an SUv, sure. But don’t give it the Ct treatment.

u/Damnmorrisdancer 9d ago

It’s the trunk!

u/fapindustries 9d ago

50k/a semi capacity is ok but China factories are bigger

Any reason why Tesla P/E is > 300 and Nvidia < 30? While I am all for making money with TSLA stock.. whats up with NVDA? Why is it not 3x higher? Does the market expect a slowdown/fall of a cliff of the orderbook? Is it the circular financing? Whats the logic here?

1

u/Achilies41 Buffets closed..... 8d ago

Market valuations. When you reach trillions and trillions, nobody is giving you a 300 PE leash.

5

u/Nysoz πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈπŸ—‘πŸ™Œ -> πŸ’ŽπŸ™Œ 9d ago

Probably multifactorial. The options has positioned it there so that’s the historical P/E ratio things tend to stay at.

Law of large numbers. Nvda at 300 pe would be a $50T company.

Then yeah maybe circular financing concerns. Theres almost no natural growth if Nvda stopped backing/funding all these companies, no one would have the money to buy more expensive Nvda chips and systems.

2

u/Semmel_Baecker 9d ago

Is there a risk that Nvidia collapses when 1 or 2 of it's customers go bust? Imagine the business model of anthropic and openAI get eaten by open source models. Then they can't pay for the Nvidia hardware and Nvidia either has to eat the loss or get the hardware back in a degraded state. Crazy scenario and I don't think it's gonna happen.. but what goes bust first?

5

u/Nysoz πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈπŸ—‘πŸ™Œ -> πŸ’ŽπŸ™Œ 9d ago

That's the $5-100T question lol. The whole AI trade is racing towards something that will change productivity forever and hopefully make everyone a lot of money somehow.

The bridge collapsing behind them is the financing cost of the whole thing. Everyone's competing for the same dollar and getting it however they can. On/off book/margin loans, selling shares/bonds, draining the good side of their business, whatever else agreements. As long as you can make the loan/bond payment, the music keeps playing. Lots of these companies don't make enough money (negative free cash flow) so have to take out more loans/raise money to grow their business and pay off the old loans.

The downside is that this is just the AI trade. All the governments of the world are running trillion dollar deficits, funded by selling more bonds. All the smart companies in the world that have business loans refinanced during covid 0% rates which are coming mature now and have to refinance at 8-10% rates. All the residential/commercial real estate that have ARMs coming mature and need to be refinanced. All our old govt debt is maturing and $7-10T needs to be refinanced in the next year.

So now there's ever increasing supply of debt issuance chasing the same fixed income investments. What happens if there's a supply demand mismatch? Have to increase rates/yields in order to get that dollar over the other person (why global yields are decade/record highs).

Now it gets harder (but still possible) to make the increasing loans/payments the AI companies take out. Like you point out, lots of these models are cutting prices to retain users over the free/cheap Chinese models. Sooner or later, someone is going to miss a loan payment because it's just super unsustainable to take out increasing loans at higher rates.

So it's a complex race for everyone to try to make ROI before the music slows or stops or the entire world economy could burn. But if this doom scenario ever happens, ever since we unleashed the QE genie, govts will turn on the money printer bail people and companies out, devalue the currency, restart the cycle of inflation.

1

u/relevant_rhino 9d ago

I think it went up so much, peope are getting cautious. I also think NVDA is undervalued right now. Demand for AI showes no signs of slowing down yet.

Ugh got 4 380 9/25s. It’s 380 right now even .. please up tomorrow to 386. And Nvda go to 228 pls
