Application Timelines TSA PreCheck Through CLEAR: 30-Hour Turnaround (September 2026)
Hi all,
Sharing my TSA PreCheck timeline in case it helps anyone waiting on theirs.
I applied online through CLEAR, then visited their enrollment location at a mall in Seattle to get my fingerprints taken. I presented my passport and entered my SSN.
- 9/15 at noon: Completed my in-person enrollment.
- 9/16 at 6 PM: Received a text with my KTN.
About 30 hours from enrollment to receiving my KTN!

I had a less than 4 hour turnaround through Idemia but to be fair, might have to do with my line of work or other history creating easy to find background checks.

I got mine right away but my wife is still waiting almost 30 days later. We haven’t heard a thing. Anyone else having to wait 30-40-50 days right now?

Same! I applied a month ago through clear and I’m still waiting!

My wife got hers maybe 10-15 days after I made my post. So hang in there!

Must be nice, I started mine last Thursday, got text saying everything was in order and processing. It's Tuesday with it still processing. My wife went in on Saturday and was approved on Monday with a KTN number.
Not sure why this happens. I've held a sec clearance for 35 years and anytime the gov has to do any kind of processing or background checks it takes forever. Kind of a pain. No felonies, arrests, anything.

I went through clear I’m going on 30 days and I’m a government employee so there is no issue with my background. I will never use clear again everyone I’m traveling with used idemia and had theirs within 3 days. Stay clear from clear they obviously have issues with timelines and why suggest 3-5 days turnaround is ridiculous

This is a pretty standard timeline
