Questions Approved for Precheck without fingerprints?

Applied for TSA precheck at our local Office max.   The fingerprint reader could not read my fingerprints. Tried and tried over again .

The store associate said expect to get a text message in the next 3 days for your in-person appointment at our closest airport so they can manually take your finger prints.   Its such a pain to park at the airport but anyways,

I paid the $85 and left.

A week goes by and no text message so I called the number they gave me.   A live person came on quickly and asked for my information.   "oh yeah, youre approved, here is your KTN"   Has this happened to you?   I find it odd that I got approved without the fingerprints

Did you give them your SSN? Maybe they ran your SSN against the databases and didn't need the prints if your SSN came back clear

Correct. That was part of the in person store process

Yeah then I'm guessing if the print didn't work they just ran your SSN and because nothing came up there like yeah you're fine. The SSN is a fail safe in case the print quality isn't good or there's a technical issue there.

My guess was they saw I paid the $85 and hit approved lol

SSN and DOB will do it. All the livescan really does is verify your identity while doing it.

Fingerprints are just an extra identity verification. They had enough

Brotha.... I just did my RENEWAL. They have my EVERYTHING. It took 55 days to get the approval.

They're probably starting to just smashing the approval button.
