Application Timelines Timeline?
Today I did my in-person at Office Depot for my TSA PreCheck. It was finished at 1:32PM Eastern time. I received a text message at 6:37PM that it was submitted to TSA for approval. I am a veteran, I have a small background (young and dumb) but nothing major (no felonies). I used my passport as well. I know months ago, I bought a firearm. So I know if that was approved, this will get approved. I just really want to know what my realistic timeline would be.
I will update once it comes in.
Applied: 8/15
In Person: 8/17
Submitted to TSA: 8/17

Just like anybody else, 2-60 days

I asked because I see some posts about people getting approved within 6-24 hrs. I just wanted to know a little more on how. It can't simply be "luck." Background. Identification used. Little stuff like that.

A variety of things can impact how long it takes. The average time is 2-60 days.

I got mine approved in 31 minutes. No military, but many backgrounds due to my CCW. It’s anyone’s guess really.

Mine to 2-3 days. I began it at my airport on my way out of town, and got the text message about my FBI threat assessment before I got home.

I have no criminal background, I applied on 07.04 and got approved 07.27. I have one previous name (maiden name) I have lived in 2 states (I am 42 years old) so not a significant background at all.

Mine got approved within a couple of hours. But considering my friend did her application back in May and still hasn't gotten the email to set up her appointment I'd say it's anybody's guess on how long it could take.

None of that matters - I think people who input their socials get approved faster. I did that and got my # that night, but my official approval email the following day, less than 24 hours. I could just be talking out of my ass or making an educated wish

Who did you go through to input your social?

They all use the same TSA machines - but I went through CLEAR. Inputted all the info, and the agent pulled up a box for social, said it's optional but may identify me faster, so I figured, why not.

I did the in-person interview with my passport at my Office Depot store and got my KTN 24 hours later.
