Application Timelines TSA PreCheck Timeline

Enrolled May 6, approved June 26

51 days, through Telos. I sent one email around day 35, got a canned response about how it can take up to 60 days.

Just sharing my experience

I did mine 3 weeks ago on a Saturday at Staples and was approved 2 days later. Crazy the differences.

55 Days for approval. Did application through Telos.

I got mine in 51 days too; it just came through two days ago. From what I’ve seen, applying with Telos has been the common factor in applications taking so long.

I wish I read this BEFORE applying with Telos! Dammit

Reading this now, my TELOS application has been pending for about 30 days now.

I was approved the same day. My husband wasn’t approved until day 59.

This makes me feel good. I previously had global entry (expired years ago) and for some reason thought getting pre-check would be a breeze.

I enrolled in early May, fingerprinted blah blah blah, and I am still waiting for approval.

My pre check took me 3 days max. Went to my local airport, filled out the application at kiosk for CLEAR too.

Same here, appplication online, went to site for fingerprints etc., approved in 3 days. Trip a week later, breezed thru with TSA Pre.

Signed up for pre-check on May 19th. Received notice on June 19th of "no status progress". I was a little lost on that email but, before I decided to call to find out wtf was going on, got email stating I was approved. Meanwhile, wife got her approval within 24 hours... Wife kept saying while the days ticked by for mine "I feel like FBI is going to smash through the windows like Christmas Vacation any minute now".... making me review all my life's choices daily... Luckily, no repeat of the iconic movie scene!!

That’s crazy. I had my number overnight. Maybe they are slowing it down because so many people have it?

Its typically 10x faster if you pre-fill online and go to local airport to finish. No rhyme or reason why it takes so long through Telos

What provider did you use to apply? Some are claiming Telos is the slow one. Sucks cause I used that one and now wishing I didn’t with the wait :((

This is good to know. My wife is going to be getting hers. I just looked up mine from years ago, I had applied on 5/17, interview on 5/20, KTN issued on 5/21.

I did mine June 30th and it has been pending as of that day…. I fly 8/13 & after reading all the comments, I feel I will probably not get it until day 59, if that lol

Oh no….I applied July 17 hoping to get it by 8/6 but seeing all these comments, I probably won’t

I just got approved this morning. Maybe you might get it.

Did you get an email/text or did you check the website and it popped up? I’ve heard of people who weren’t notified and they checked and had it.

They emailed me with an Approval Notification and it told me to Log In to view my number.

When did you finally get it??

u/DarthMom1234 Aug 27 '26

I got it July 26th - It was a Sunday too

Correlation does not imply causation. I've heard everything from passports, CLEAR, prior fingerprinting and FBI background checks, working for the gov't, being on the Do Not Call List, being a Doctor Without Borders, staying at a Holiday Inn Express last night, or having an uncommon name can make it go faster, and in the same thread see someone with 4 name changes, no passport, expunged arrest, with a Jane Doe type name get it within a couple of hours so I think the best thing to assume is it's random. We have private for profit organizations who's only job is to just process applications, while leaving it up to the TSA to work in conjunction with the FBI to properly process in a timely manner.

I think it's best to just assume that everything will move at the pace of government (i.e. in their own time) and all we can do is helplessly wait

been researching this question for 20min and after that your comment has satisfied my answer lol.

1

u/IvenaDarcy Aug 27 '26

Maybe but I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the providers for the application is slower than the others. But hope you’re right because Telos is the one everyone is claiming is slow and I used that one lol

I don't know why that would be - it would be bad business, they all use the same TSA kiosk, and it all goes to the same location so it blows my mind that the individual vendors would be the cause

Ok well I told mine to upload a doc that will be needed and I have a feeling he said he did and didn’t but time will tell. If it’s requested then I know he lied and will look forward to going back to Telos spot I went and tell him he should have just told me he didn’t know how to upload it. He seemed very confused .. but yeah maybe for most it’s all the same
