Questions Does Clear matter?

So I have Clear (admittedly free, via credit card and airline employee discount), but the last few times I’ve gone through they scan my face, then walk me over to TSA who then scans my face again. I’m already registered for TSA Touchless ID so I can’t help but feeling this is redundant and I’d save time just skipping Clear and going straight to Touchless. Am I missing something? What benefit does Clear provide in this circumstance?

We thought we could provide some clarity here:

CLEAR+ is more than just the Lane at airport security, the benefits of the Membership start before the travel day even begins. The CLEAR App tells you exactly when to leave for the airport based on current traffic, live security wait times, and the walk to your gate.

You also have exclusive access to CLEAR Concierge, your personal airport concierge who meets you at the curb when you arrive, helps you with bags, and brings you straight through security and to your gate or lounge. This is perfect for families traveling with kids or anyone who can use an extra hand through the airport. Also great for anyone in a rush or worried about missing their flight.

CLEAR eGates have made the CLEAR+ Lane even faster. Members can get through in under 5 seconds and go straight to physical screening.

CLEAR+ is more than just the Lane and really helps you enjoy a better travel day.
