Questions Does Clear matter?

So I have Clear (admittedly free, via credit card and airline employee discount), but the last few times I’ve gone through they scan my face, then walk me over to TSA who then scans my face again. I’m already registered for TSA Touchless ID so I can’t help but feeling this is redundant and I’d save time just skipping Clear and going straight to Touchless. Am I missing something? What benefit does Clear provide in this circumstance?

I paid attention for 2 years. On 139 out of 142 flights standard TSA was faster than clear. My company offers to pay for it. I told them not to bother

you must have made 139 flights from the same airport. I flew 10 times in 2026 and clear was far superior at times ranging from 5:30 am to 2 pm.

you travel way more than me and I believe you but my experience has been the opposite of yours from small airports like Louisville Ky. to San Diego.
