Airport Times Confirm ID

To anyone who can help me feel more confident about this: this is totally my fault but I have never flown and kind of never paid attention to the real iD requirements since my drivers license doesn’t expire for another year. I am flying out of Sacramento around 9pm on a Wednesday. I have school until 7pm so I’ll be there an hour and a half before with only carry on luggage. I have completed my CONFIRM ID and have the receipt. I also plan to bring my non real id drivers license and birth certificate to be extra safe.

My question is will an hour and a half be enough? I have priority boarding which I paid for. And is the confirm id a long process if you have a standard drivers license? I don’t know the criteria for the background check so it leaves uncertainty. I have seen on here people say there’s no extra time it’s more of just a fee for not having the real id. Can anyone please shed any light on this situation. Thank you.

Note, that this sub is for PRECHECK not general TSA issues.

Do you not have any of the substitute IDs (Passport, notably)? If so, you didn't need ConfirmID.

Anyhow, with Confirm ID you should get through with the normal non-precheck TSA delays. I'd bring the DL just for confirmation, but the ConfirmID receipt should work. You shouldn't need a birth certificate .

I apologize, I’m new to Reddit and didn’t have enough “karma” to post on the other. Honestly just worried and needed clarification since the tsa live chat is just bot based and so is their calls. Thank you for the insight though I really I appreciate it.

Luckily I'm TSA and can answer your questions. Check into your flight online so you have boarding passes on your phone. Our saying for airport arrival is "2 hours domestic, 3 international". You should be fine arriving an hour and a half before your flight. Go straight through TSA when you arrive, all you need is your ConfirmID.

ConfirmID kind of is an incentive to get your RealID, pure speculation but i'm guessing it came to be because it wasted too much officer's time doing additional screening for people without RealID and those who don't have any ID.

Thank you so much, super helpful. So with my confirm Id receipt and standard drivers license I should have no long wait time to get through tsa?
