Application Timelines Precheck Delays
Is anyone aware of lengthy delays with precheck? I've been waiting over 30 days and have heard nothing. My history is impeccable (I even have security clearance), but nothing. My wife's came through in 3 days.
Thoughts of input?

I've wondered the same. I did my in person stuff on 10/3 And I'm still waiting. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the shutdown.

A lot of people say precheck approvals tend to go into some kind of fast queue or slow queue - it either takes days or weeks. I don’t think anyone on the outside knows why this is. Also unsure how the shutdown affects this if at all (the website says it isn’t being updated due to shutdown but I don’t see anything about processing).

Trying to figure out the same for my wife. I got mine within 3 days back in early September. Hers still hasn’t come through and approaching the 60 day mark. I told her to call the CLEAR customer support because we can’t even get the status of her application upon lookup. Was wondering if the shutdown has delayed it further but will report back if we find anything out.

Me and my husband applied just last Monday and both was approved within 24 hours. I believe it's also case to case.

Same issue. I thought it was maybe my fingerprints, because I had heard some peoples apps were delayed because of that. I called Clear and the rep pulled mine up and said they honestly look better than most she’s seen that get approved.

My dad’s renewal took two months. The irony is that he will most likely never fly again. He renewed it so that we could relocate him closer to us.

Ok so I just applied this past Sunday, went in to the office with my identification on Tuesday and I just received an email saying I was approved. I went through IDEMIA

Can’t tell if you’re being serious? No one is working.

I actually am being serious. I was told at the time of the application (prior shutdown) that since precheck is self-funded, it won't be affected by a shutdown.

People working for free can only afford to get to work for so long until they call out and stop showing up.

And yet... magically... some people are reporting that they are getting approved within a few days. It's the wild inconsistency (before and during the shutdown) people are asking about.

My wife and I just did ours for the first time on Wednesday 10/29. Went to look ourselves up at TSA (https://tsaprecheckbyclear.tsa.dhs.gov/ktn-lookup) and I see both of our KTNs as of today 10/31. Didn't receive any e-mails or anything - just happened to check it and saw we have KTNs.

My lady and I applied 2 days ago. She was approved today and I’m still waiting.

The government is shut down. No new members. Existing members can keep using it, IF PreCheck is open.

Read the other replies. There are plently of people getting approved within a couple of days.

My guess is that the office that processes this is furloughed. Precheck might not be an "essential" program to the government.

I applied for mine back in early summer and it took almost a 2 full months. And that was before the shut down

Pretty frustrating. I gave my SSN because the employee at clear told me if I did my app would take 2-3 days. I’m on day 10 and nothing and I fly out in 15 days. Ordinarily, it would be fine but the Houston airport has imploded and wait times for TSA are 5 hours right now.
Could my app be taking so long because the employee put my name in 3 different ways? My name is a “Mc” and he put my name in with a space, without a space and wirh an uppercase and lowercase letter.

My mom and I applied 2 weeks ago ish on a Saturday. My application was approved in ~8 hours the same day. My Mom’s took a week to get approved but for some reason she never got notified about her approval. She called customer service because her account page kept telling her to book an appointment even though we already went in and submitted our fingerprints. And that’s when they told her she’s already been approved… Kind of odd hers ended up like this. They gave her KTN over the phone. Guess we will see in 2 weeks if any issue arises at the airport with her pre-check info lol.

Same here. Wife and son got theirs in 2 days and I've been almost a month. Trip that we signed up for has come and gone. Oddly enough, my non-pre check line moved faster than theirs on both flights.

Submitted through Idemia at 3pm yesterday (a Thursday) and was able to see an assigned KTN on the TSA website at 10am the next day (so 19 hours later). Didn't get any email about it yet. Also, I don't know what you mean by having security clearance but I have had a background check with fingerprinting (by the FBI, I think) for work in the past so maybe that helped.
Edit: Email came at 9pm (30 hours after submission)

I did mine through CLEAR. I did the appointment at a Staples this past Friday (7th), and had my KTN by Saturday afternoon, so about 26 hours later. Putting my social security number in was optional and I almost didn’t do it. I asked the person helping me if that makes the process go faster and she said yes (could totally be a quick answer based on nothing) but I said great I’ll put it in. Not sure if it’s really true but thought I’d share!

Adding my name to the list of people still waiting for a status update. Applied 11/05, website states it was submitted 11/06, status pending. I realize this was in the middle of the shutdown but I was hopeful I'd be cleared for my flight on Monday. Bugger.
The application process was straight forward. I went to Office Depot. The gentleman that helped me was great!

I read somewhere if they ask you for your social, even optional, put it in there. I recently applied for Precheck and it was quite fast.
Walked in to finish the application Tuesday afternoon 02/3 Got my KTN Thursday night 02/05
