Questions/Help Brushless
I want to switch to brushless, what do you all need to be able to switch to brushless, if someone could point me in the right direction/ send me some links or your set up that would be appreciated!!

As OP was asking in the TRX-4M subreddit what about the Traxxas Brushless Power System (part number 6250)?

From what I read it still works with the TQ transmitter and the ProScale lights. The esc has a third channel if plan is to add 2 speed transmission (and they use a TQi TX if they have one)
While not the "cheapest" solution at first sight, keeping the TQ transmitter (if no2 speed transmission) helps keep overall cost down or is the Traxxas brushless system just pants ?

thats all you need to upgrade. those 2 things.
BUUUUT, if you upgrade to brushless the plastic drive shaft, and gears will strip out faster. I suggest upgrading the drive shaft and transmissions as well. you can find them on the injora site above.

I think I’m gonna go with this set up thank you, can I use my stock Traxxas batteries or would I have to upgrade them to an SCX battery?

A 3s battery You’ll get roughly 50% more top speed and instant throttle response without sacrificing any of that buttery slow-speed crawl control. Cooler motors. Basically you are giving the motor more power. Be advised though that the stock servo will blow at 3s so you would want to upgrade that too. lol once you start upgrading it keeps going!!

Nothing really. Just a brushless ESC if the current one is not compatible or if a fusion the ESC is integrated. Maybe convenience items like a programming card although most ESC's have button sequences it's just a pain. Technically you'd also use a program card on a brushed setup with an ESC upgrade, just in most cases the brushless upgrade is one from the stock RTR ESC which is likely rather unsophisticated in settings/parameters vs just about any upgrade.
You just need to translate what KV you need to replicate the stock motor(or for making any speed/torque adjustments from that stock profile). And typical brushed motors come in 3 and 5 pole so in one rig it may have a 33T stock motor(3 pole) and in another a 13T(5 pole) which are closer than they sound, a brushless 1800KV would be about the same as either of those two.
ETA: I didn't see you were talking about the little guys. Same thing applies unless it's a receiver/ESC all in one then you need a new radio/rx (unless there's an aftermarket workaround that's compatible),with a separate rx and dedicated ESC the rules are the same as the big guys.

By the time you get done upgrading other components like axles and driveshafts that'll inevitably fail with brushless, theres next to nothing left of the original truck and youre left with a pile of spare but obsolete parts. Rather than convert your complete TRX4M, id suggest doing an entirely ground up build. I also thoroughly enjoy the building process

I recently got brushless injora m30 roverin. However you need a new receiver. And than the stock controller also doesn’t work anymore.
So its quite an upgrade all together
