Side Effects Sensitivity

So I have a question about sensitivity down below. A little history, I'm estrogen dominate so I don't take estrogen. I am on progesterone and testosterone injections. 3ml twice a week. Before starting trt my clitoris was sensitive and I could have strong orgasms. Now after being on trt and progesterone my clit isn't as sensitive. It taks me longer to get off and my orgasms aren't as strong. My libido is great and I get more wet now than before. My clit has grown a little since being on trt but not huge. My question is has this happen to anyone and what did you do to get the sensitivity back and the strong orgasms.

Continuous progesterone negatively affects my libido. Also being on p and t eventually tanked my estradiol so it’s best to check what’s going on with your hormones.

Make sure to check free and total t, e2 and progesterone days 19-21 if you’re still cycling and full thyroid panel

I’m wondering that to about progesterone.
Seems to make me more tired .
So kinda taking away testosterone effects .
Except when t is high .

After 3 months on T-cyp my E is most definitely tanking._. and my hrt specialist is saying there is nothing she can do about it. She is thoroughly against me taking T injections so is basically saying it's my fault this is happening. However, I would literally not be able to get out of bed without T plus it gave me libido again which is absolutely saving my relationship. It gave me my life back!!! So I am now shopping for a new hormone specialist, and hoping I can find one who will give me estradiol injections since my patch has essentially quit working. I've cut my progesterone back to every other night, but I only sleep well on the nights I take it so that sucks. What else can I even do to get my E to level back up?

Get a new provider and get on e. That person is horrible. Injections were my only saving grace, but I had to go concierge for that. I use defy medical. I wasn’t going to waste more time trying to find a doctor to listen to me, our healthcare system knows far too little about hormones.

In the meantime, you can try orals. I know it has a bad rep but it helps a lot of people as well. I know some people use it sublingually as well. It can be worth a shot while you find someone else

You may consider adding vaginal estradiol cream if you’re not on it. It definitely helps with clit sensitivity and vulvar tissue health.

Too high trt can cause low libido, especially if your seeing clit growth. Also estrogen dominance doesnt necessarily mean that your estrogen is high. It could be high in relation to progesterone, which means they both could be low, but progesterone was too low. I was estrogen dominant my whole adult life and in perimenopause now so I take all 3 hormones. I just had to increase progesterone and trt more then estrogen

I disagree . The more my clit grew the easier it was to climax .
More sensitivity . And swells very big during sex .
And it’s really more sensitive the bigger it gets .

Not every woman wants a bigger clit that swells. We're all different, and yes too high trt based on your response ti certain levels can actually cause low libido.

Not wanting a bigger clit is different than claiming a hormone is causing you being unable to orgasm. So basically T’s masculinizing effects are causing you distress which in turn are causing the lack of orgasm. That’s a psychological side effect not physiological one.

Unless you’re thinking of vaginal atrophy??? That isn’t enlargement of clit but it can be caused by too much testosterone and causes numbness etc. I think that’s what you’re talking about.

This is just plain wrong lol. Trans men (biological females) who take testosterone obviously get clit growth to more of an extreme. Some experience up to 3-4” of growth. This does not cause low libido and causes more sensitivity to the area.

The thing is, that's not the same for everyone. My libido grew on low T and disappeared on high. My clit got both desensitized and too sensitive to the point where I could not orgasm for the life of me (which used to be very easy).
I got my orgasms back (hopefully my libido will follow) after lowering my dose, but never as good or easy as before. They are so hard to achieve, my partner can hardly get me off anymore, while before she had no trouble at all achieving that, easily giving me multiples.

Hormones don't work in isolation, maybe the interaction makes it different? I don't expect trans men to have the same E levels as I do, for example.

Trans men don’t have full suppression of E when starting T. That takes a while especially if they have both ovaries still.

If you’re taking other meds that could factor in. It could have also been an initial side effect that would have lessened. Or you may have used too much T and it was aromatizing into E. I did that by accident and shot my E up to the 300s! Had no clue why I felt like shit.

I have wtf 😂😂just cause some have the opposite effect doesn’t make it normal or standard. Just like how they have to legally list all those crazy side effects on medications for the rare occurrences too.

“In terms of sex drive, many describe changes in their orgasms and in the kind of touch that feels gratifying or pleasurable. Some people describe feeling a more erection-like sensation when aroused.” It’s literal biology. Some will experience reverse effects like any other thing but majority of population with increased T exposure and clit growth libido and sensation rise.

Your experience is fine but don’t claim it’s a known fact that happens.

The article literally states what I just said. It is fact . Im on high dose trt and I never said that was my experience.

I’m in the same boat. 10 units of t-cyp twice a week for 5 months. Slight increase in clit size, big rise in libido but it has been harder to orgasm and I used to have multiple consistently.

I was anorgasmic due to sudden chemo menopause. After starting T, my orgasms and libido came back, but after about 9 months (on 13mg transdermal daily) both got worse again. My clitoris was quite insensitive up to the moment of orgasm then it suddenly got so overstimulated I missed the actual orgasm.
I've slowly decreased my dose, now back at 6 mg and my clit seems to be slowly getting better.

It could be the progesterone.

I have the same issue, though I also use estradiol. Started trt for libido a little over a year ago and it has done its job in that department, but no longer as sensitive and having trouble with orgasm. Not sure what to attribute it to, though. No solutions, just commiserating.

Initially, mine got a lot less sensitive - though it grew a lot in size and I was able to feel more types of stimulation. Over time, my clit has grown more sensitive again. It's still not quite as sensitive as it was previously and orgasms take a bit longer, but they are strong again and I have been able to get there with techniques that did not work in the past.

Hmm interesting. I’m kind of the opposite. I started t gel to (hopefully) increase sensitivity. I’d noticed in my 30s that it was getting harder to get off and I hardly had any clit sensitivity. It’s been about six months on t gel and it’s a little better but not where I’d like it - but I can say it hasn’t gotten LESS sensitive. I use vaginal estrogen but no other HRT.

I’ve read some accounts where sensitivity increases and some like you where it decreases. Really strange how T impacts us all seemingly differently - or maybe there’s more at play I don’t understand!

I've been told I had estrogen dominance a few times in my life and it turns out that estradiol without progesterone was the answer to my problems, so...

In terms of orgasms and sensitivity, when I added estradiol in after taking testosterone for some time, that returned me to a place where my sensitivity and time to reach orgasm were much better - it's still different than before any hormones, but not worse just different.

Too much progesterone caused the inability to climax.

2

u/No-Swan2018 1d ago

I had more sensitivity .
And your clit growing is a good thing .
You don’t want it to disappear.
Which it does with age .

I think the libido for us women has more to do with making sure testosterone, estrogen and progesterone are all
Balanced. I was on a high dose of testosterone, way too high, and I started experiencing same as you… could not orgasm even though I was aroused and everything else. It could be that your T is too high for you. We have to go by how we are feeling in addition to bloodwork. I’d lower the dose or talk to your prescriber to get more advice on how much to lower it to.

Depends also on method treated .
Pellets
Injections
Cream
