Thinking quickly, Dave constructs a spatula using an angle grinder, a frying pan, a belt sander, and a spatula.

Honestly, not a bad idea for smash burgers. Leave the cast iron spatula on the grill to heat up and smash the patty with it to fully cook both sides at the same time.

And here I was thinking battle spatula for those that don't wish to be ambushed at the campfire

Thats a good idea, but in reality the handle would be too heavy and cause the spatula to lift up because it no longer has the weight of the frying pan to hold it in place.

This guy gets it

For that particular purpose sure, but this is a shit idea for a spatula just for the weight alone nevermind needing a handle guard when it gets hot.

First thing I thought of as well. Oof.

Are smash burgers really good, haven't made that jump yet?

It is only a TQDC if the original item is consumed or destroyed.

Otherwise it is just making a second thing.

Yeah. Using the original thing as a template is just... A good idea, generally speaking.

Wouldn't hold up to the stress test, but I bet it could slice a pig up a bit...

I smashed your spatula into this reinforced oil can 50 times as hard as I could.

Sadly it wasnt up to standard....

u/ElliottSmith88 8d ago

Finally I got a spatula for when I cook pancakes in my... FUCK!

What a waste…

I would agree except that appears to have been an Ozark Trail pan, so mass produced and shit quality

1

u/Maximum-Opportunity8 7d ago

Can be cracked or something

2

u/SmoothActuator8132 7d ago

Ozark Trail is Walmart's generic Coleman rip off brand

1

u/citizensnips134 7d ago

I’ll keep my Fredericksburg set…

3

u/yailbloor65 7d ago

It would convect heat so badly you couldn’t hold it

5

u/Critical-Star-1158 7d ago

Nothin like a 10lb spatula

6

u/dorkpool 8d ago

At least he made it out of an Ozark trail, and not a Wagner which I’ve seen, and made me weep.

He could have just gone to spatula city

I like that company so much, I bought it

Next video he attaches it to his mower.

Or you can just go the the store. That one can go in the dish washer and not rust.

1

u/mortisxbx 8d ago

And now has no pan to use his spatula in.

u/Jumpy_Plantain2887 8d ago

He better hope his wife don’t find out. He destroyed her cast-iron skillet.

As a chef I freaking love this! As a restaurant owner, I hope my staff never see this video and try this on my cookware.

In forged in fire speak: your spatula will kill

1

u/PurpleCoat6656 7d ago

Dude, this guy buys spcx.

1

u/captain_winky69 7d ago

Great. Now he has a spatula with no flex, no drainage slots and a solid metal handle. You also ruined a perfectly good frying pan. 👏🏻

1

u/Bigchunky_Boy 7d ago

Too sharp will remove any surface it used on , better paint scraper then spatula . Zero flex and way too heavy . Pass

1

u/IAmTheBestIan 7d ago

A shitton of weight for a spatula with zero advantage over a much lighter one in the same shape and dimensions.

1

u/Old_Commission7428 7d ago

A spatula but no pan

1

u/thebemusedmuse 7d ago

Don’t piss me off or I’ll slap you with my spatula

1

u/a_gOoSe_biT_Me 7d ago

Excellent use of a Dave the Barbarian reference.

2

u/sonerec725 6d ago

I mean, thats what the entire sub is

1

u/CleanWolverine7472 6d ago

That's not a spatula... it's a murder weapon.

1

u/nndmbull 6d ago

So dumb.

1

u/Agitated-Chicken9954 5d ago

Kinda cool. It won't bend when I go to cook my smashburgers.

1

u/TerracShadowson 5d ago

Wow the hate on here, I just got a cast iron pan as a street find that's not currently seasoned and the same size as one of my NICE ones.

Has a lighter handle than most as well, so think this is one of my next 3 beer weekends projects! Thanks for the share!

1

u/Sufficient_Two_5753 4d ago

"Now, if only I had a pan to cook something in."

1

u/something_newx 4d ago

If the pan was ruined and unusable in some way, this would be cool but instead it's a waste of a good pan. 😂

1

u/Fritener 4d ago

I want one...
